Why would you ever give people what they want and make them happy? Doing the complete opposite, out of some sort of weird spite towards your audience, is what generates goodwill and maximizes profits.

I didn't get that either. When they were announcing the night's GM, I thought Ryder might come out. How hard would it have been to bring him out for a token appearance? So stupid.

The whole Laurinaitis thing is done. Not sure why they don't see that. I don't blame Laurinaitis himself. He was stuck in that role.

The opening tag was good until the fuck finish. I'm loving the groove Punk & Bryan are on right now.

The Swagger/Ziggler match was another fun one until the sudden finish out of nowhere, killing Swagger off in the process. I loved watching Swagger break down Ziggler and his selling is tops of anyone in the company.

The HHH/Heyman deal is so ridiculous. HHH tries to play his mindgames, suckering Brock into fighting him so he can get his revenge. Why would Brock want to come back unless he's given more money in storyline? Because he punched his pal Paul E? WTF...now they should just be able to get even more money from all their lawsuits. And if you're the famous board of directors, don't you have to be pissed that HHH is getting you involved in all these stupid lawsuits? We all know the only thing happening at SS is another infamous HHH burial. Whatever. I just want to see one last Brock killing of someone either before or at SS. They should have Brock show up on the 3-hour RAW in July and just beat the holy fuck out of HHH, Shawn and whomever else. Then do whatever they fuck they want at SS.

I'm sick of this shit where heels just walk away from a match. Do it once, okay. But there were at least 4 guys who did it tonight and I know they did it last night, too. The fuck?

And the whole Lauper/Piper/Slater deal was so ridiculous, it was funny. I was surprised Richter showed up after shitting on WWE a little while back at one of the HOF deals. Knowing the LI crowd would not know either of them was hilarious until the bagpipes hit. I love Piper so anytime he comes out to talk is fine by me.

Foley most certainly had a great look, so you are way off base with that. And while not athletic at all, he knew how to work a match within his athletic limitations. And he was a top .01% promo in the history of the business (you could make the argument he was THE best).

So while Foley's reckless style contributed to making him a star, it was hardly the primary reason. Plenty of guys were far more reckless than Foley and went nowhere in the business, because they did not have the gifts and ability that Foley had in other areas.

I'd also like you to explain the second bold. In what way did Foley "set back wrestlers years"?

Foley was no more a stuntman than Shawn Michaels was.

Like warner said, Foley sure as hell had a good look if you go back to Cactus Jack and most definitely as Mankind. He wasn't going to produce 5* matches but he definitely held his own and knew how to work. The famous one with HBK, the classic Rumble one with HHH, the countless brawls with Taker (not even including the famous KOTR match in this) and those are all just off the top of my head.

He helped make Randy Orton and Edge into main event caliber guys. He single handedly made HHH a legit main-eventer.

His Cane Dewey promo is without a doubt one of the most famous all-time.

And all that's without even mentioning the HIAC match specifically. Did it help him get over? Of course, it pushed him over the top in the eyes of lots....but let's not act like he went on to make those falls the norm. The biggest shitstorm he put his body through from July 1998 to the end of his full-time run in WWE was what? I'd guess the barrage of chair shots from Rocky at Rumble 1999. Otherwise, you're talking about other chair shots to the head at various times, thumbtacks and maybe a little barbed wire?

Remember, when Foley first came to WWF in 1996, he was pushed as Taker's equal and they feuded on and off for the better part of 2 years before the big bumps at KOTR. So, to say he made it to the top exclusively because he took those bumps (and I guess you also refer without naming it specifically, his horrific shit in the Deathmatch stuff), is overstating it by a lot.

F4WOnline.com reports that Del Rio had a dispute with upper-level management that day and threatened to quit WWE. One company source says Del Rio was frustrated with his role and contemplating a departure. A second source said the incident wasn't that big a deal and that both sides were wrangling over a contract matter. A third source believes the spat was a combination of both accounts.

Del Rio has leverage; he has no issues with income and could return to Mexico as a heralded former WWE Superstar and son of noted luchador Dos Caras. A company employee expressed skepticism Monday night that Del Rio had legitimately suffered a concussion, noting that he was "too injured" to work the No Way Out pay-per-view event on Sunday but healthy enough to work the following evening's Raw SuperShow. The employee believes the concussion was a cover excuse for issues that came up between Del Rio and WWE, necessitating his removal from the match.
