Del Rio and Miz as faces is an incredibly awkward proposition...especially when you are using 3MB to get them over as faces.
Talk about not knowing what to do with a guy. Damn.Comment

Del Rio as a face can easily work. Very easily. Ricardo as a face would be okay for a little bit but get very draining quickly and could turn Del Rio into a Santino-esque joke babyface.Comment

I like the idea of Del Rio as a no nonsense, arm breaking babyface. He was getting stale as a heel anyway.
My problem, is the never 'turn' anybody anymore. For example, Del Rio & Miz just kinda showed up as faces one day. Big Show has'turned' about 19 times, but how many of those were memorable angles? Or angles at all? He just shows up, and the announcers talk about him differently.
Remember when turns were a big deal? Particularly in the 80's/90's. Name a guy, any guy, and i can describe to you his big turn and why he did it. Like when Hercules was sold to DiBiase by Heenan to be his slave. Now THATS a turn. Or when Jake Roberts did those vignettes with Ultimate Warrior, the last one set him up for the snake bite in the cemetery and Jake said "never trust a snake". Roberts didnt just show up one day as a heel.Comment

The old heel-to-babyface formula for mid carders was always the same. Manager interference backfires, guy get fed up, attacks the manager, Monsoon praises him for seeing the light, proceeds to feud with ex-manager and his charges for six months, feud blown off at Survivor Series with a mid match elimination or at Royal Rumble in similar fashion.Comment

What changes in his character has Del Rio or The Miz taken? Del Rio still doesn't say much and is the rich Mexican aristocrat. Miz is still the asshole. They just ham it up to the crowd.Comment

The WWE justifies their face turns by simply having them stop fighting other faces. It's how they've done it for years. When Randy Orton kicks the head of a defenseless good guy into the rafters he's a heel but if he does it to a bad guy he's a face.Comment
