I don't buy it. He's got fans, no doubt. But the reactions the last few weeks haven't matched what I've seen in the audience. Methinks it is piped in.

Exactly. I thought the same thing when they were shaking the hard cam last week to make it seem like the audience was going nuts. They tried to keep it on close camera angles too. When they went wide, you saw maybe 50 of the estimated 500 or so visible in the lower bowl reacting. Not at all what you see from crowds who ACTUALLY produce that kind of noise. Then this week, McMahon's reaction and especially the reactions for Punk cutting off or insulting Vince were ridiculously fake.

And that's the thing, the guy had some fans and was getting over just fine. Now, they rush things and have to pipe in chants and risk ruining a good thing. Ryback is never going to carry a guy to a good match, but having another "streak" going is just fine, and people love watching the power/gimmick moves he brings.

It's like what they did with Brodus. Have him dancing with two chicks, squashing everyone, then they essentially had Miz job to him. So, Clay going over a guy in the top part of the mid card was supposed to lead to big things? What's Brodus done lately? Their booking is terrible, and way too reactionary.
