WWE.com is incredible. They do an unbelievable job and have an amazing array of videos/matches and even their columns have improved ten-fold in the past year. They have a lot of great writers and don't bullshit.

"Randy Orton, by the way, is kind of in the doghouse right now for some stuff backstage, which I'll get more details and publish later on, but...the odds are pretty strong Randy does not have the belt coming out of Elimination Chamber.

I think they know they can't do Batista-Orton, and because of the backstage stuff: basically, Orton being disgruntled and expressing it. I want to at least narrow it down from being some wild rumors other than that. He's on the shit list and probably not going to be in that top-top spot, so who knows where Orton ends up."

To be fair, in this instance it's not even his fault. He's booked like a goof being used by the real top heels, and can't ever beat the flying goat.

The proposed Toby Keith-Jeff Jarrett promotion, which is a long way from happening, stemmed almost exactly as you’d think. TNA was for sale and Jarrett through his connections with the Nashville music industry and Keith in particular, tried to put together a bid to buy the company. The deal was very close at one point. Bob Carter came to Keith to finalize the deal and the two sides were close on a price, although they were not quite there. The belief is they were going to hash it out, but Carter only had one request in selling, which was that Dixie Carter would remain with her title, have some power in the company and remain a television character. Keith said he wasn’t going to buy the company with any creative limitations, so the deal actually fell apart because Bob Carter in the end was going to protect his daughter. Someone in TNA who was aware of how it went down noted to us that, “That’s why we all are still here,” noting if it was about business, TNA would have never survived after the last golden carrots (prime time TV and Hulk Hogan) failed to increase popularity or take the company from losing money. At that point, the feeling was from Keith and Jarrett that they didn’t need to buy the company, as they could start their own company from scratch. The deal falling through would have been shortly before Jarrett quit TNA in December. The other thing noted is when this story got out inside of TNA, those who had tried to believe the Janice Carter memo and thought the idea was that the Carters wouldn’t sell, and the talks were for just a minority investor, realized they’d been had.

TNA put MVP on TV as the new top babyface...without a contract.

A funny story regarding MVP. When we reported he was probably the investor and definitely going to TNA, he responded saying he had no contract. I just figured he’s protecting his storyline, and essentially, that is what he was doing. However, at least as of the weekend, he had not signed his contract. He did reach a verbal deal and has a deal agreement in place, but had not signed an actual contract. The angle had been booked for several weeks, with TNA figuring he would sign before going on TV, but when he hadn’t signed, they put him on TV anyway since it was their storyline. This may end up meaning nothing because 2014 isn’t 1998, where the other side could now steal him. Today, WWE isn’t going to sign someone just to screw with TNA, and WWE is building around younger guys in the training center and MVP is an older guy, nearly 40. He may have signed at press time as the last word I got is he could very well sign, but hadn’t when he was on TV. Vince McMahon and HHH have shown little interest in bringing him back after John Laurinaitis had told him when he left because he wanted to go to New Japan (he was going nowhere in WWE, plus, he really got into pro wrestling by watching New Japan tapes and wanted to work for that company), that the door was always open for a return.

PWInsider said he still thinking it over. A friend of his told Mike Johnson he is tussling with himself over the idea of sacrificing the badass niche he has created for himself in exchange for starting over with WWE and possibly taking a pay cut.

That shouldn't be a revelation to anyone who has read the fleshed out thoughts in this thread. Devitt isn't a fame hungry guy or a mark in the negative sense for WWE. The true drivers in his decision are job security, quality of life and his ACTUAL take home pay. I can't over state his reputation for being a smart businessman so his ultimate decision will be the one that he feels the best for him and I will respect it.

A. Change the Time Frame to look at Bryan's Ascension
If you limit the time-frame for comparison to just June 2013-Feb 2014, we lose a lot of the "Cena Only" show data but interestingly that pretty much erases the deficit between the two wrestlers. In that scenario, the 31 Bryan only shows are down -1,180 versus the average and the 17 Cena only shows are down -1,023 versus the average. They'd be essentially tied, but neither are providing WWE with upward momentum.
