Helluva player and he would fit into the Arsenal "style", such as it is. But I can't see them making any serious push for him. I expect this summer to be more of the norm for Arsenal under Arse - lots of rumors, lots of "we have money to spend if he wants it" and then little actually movement. Wenger will continue to look for the perfect player at the perfect price and probably not find exatly what he wants. So it will be more status quo for the squad than reloading and they probably won't do any better next season. In fact, they will likely struggle to achieve third again.
I don't know that Dortmund will be able to get a fortune for Kagawa. Not sure they have that much leverage and as popular as the Bundesliga is, its still behind England and Spain for finances. He won't be cheap, but I can't see him costing into the 25m-plus range. But I do expect he will come with a hefty wage. So even if Wenger were willing to pony up the fee, a big wage to go with it seems unlikey.
I would be interested in Lewandowski or Hummels. Don't really wanna see Dortmund get pillaged because they are fun to watch, but if it helps The Arse...Comment

M'Vila looks like he has the goods. He has played really well in France, which is a good league. He won't be cheap, and the spending of PSG as well as City is only going to drive prices up further. He's still young, which means he could get much better and that just costs moremoney. If Wenger could grab him for 15m or so, I think it would happen. But I could see Rennes holding out for $25m or more, and that will sink a deal for Arsenal, I'm sure. Same as if they can agree a fee but M'Vila wants 100k per week or more.
I'm a bit less sold on Vertongen. Good defender, but he seems more finesse than strength. Will that work in the Prem? Is it what they need beside Vermalaen? Not sure. He kinda seems like he might be a slightly better, more consistent Koscielny, who ranged from fucking awful to pretty good this season. Beyond that, would he pick Arsenal over Sperz? If Tottenham only end up in the Europea league, perhaps Arsenal become more attractive. But beyond that, I honestly think Tottenham might be more appealing at this point in some ways. And that fucking hurts to say.Comment

If Lewandowski stars at the Euro's like some are predicting, it will become almost impossible to hang onto him.Comment

I agree with you. Although I think, Kagawa will go for no more than 15, he is already rumored to United for a fee of 12. I even heard as low as 8. Which is also why I heard Arse might be in on him.
But I think M'Vila is going to be a fucking waste of money. Not because he wont be good enough, which i actually think he is, but because his price is going to be driven so high. I think its at least 30 for him. Fuckin market is insane.
And yes, it does suck for Dortmund regarding TRMs post, I hope they can keep people (except fr Kagawa for obvious reasons). But Lewandowski and Hummels already want more money.
Hummels' father:
The father and manager of Hummels has been invited to Manchester. He states "the wages offered by Dortmund are no where near what we expect".
Lewandowksi's agent:
"I can confirm that the [new contract] offer of Borussia Dortmund is insufficient," Barthel told Bild. "I am also able to confirm an interest of Manchester United in the services of Robert Lewandowski."Comment

Agree all the way around. It sounds like Kagawa will be a relative bargain in terms of transfer fee. I don't think he will be a bargain at all in regard to wages. I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up becoming one of the better-paid played at United. Not quite at Rooney level, but top-level Prem wages. Unless his agent is incompetent, he has a ton of leverage. He is worth a lot of marketing money in Asia, especially to a high-profile club like United. He can also play another year at Dortmund and then walk on a Bosman, where he can pick his club and would typically get a bigger wage packet because the club wouldn't have to pay a transfer fee, so his agent can use that to get a bit better wage, I expect.
And yeah, I have the same feeling on M'Vila. If he has a strong Euro's, the prices definitely goes up. French clubs tend to be able to leverage well when selling, and if they can even make it seem like PSG is interested, the price goes up.
If the media is to be believed, Old Trafford is going to become Dortmund West this summer.Comment
