Sounds like Burke wants a copy of Getzlaf. That would definitely be an upgrade and probably give a guy like Kessel a whole lot more protection; which is relevant since Kessel is one of the softest star players in the league. Problem is playmakers built like power forwards don't grow on trees.
Correct which is why this draft is important as someone like Galchenyuk is what the leafs need.

Joe Colborne is another option but he just finished his 2nd pro season in the AHL last season and needs another year down there unless he progresses greatly over the summer. Colborne is a 6'5 215lbs centerman already in the leafs system who's only 22.

When Lupul went down with a shoulder injury it was easy to target Kessel since that first line shit the bed after that.

I for real spit out my kool-aid reading those in a row.

I feel lucky as a Blackhawks fan, shit got right as soon as the old man died! Any old men in charge of the Leafs? That would be my suggestion.

I watched the Burke presser, and a lot of stuff jumped out. You can see he is pissed off, and not happy, and being in Toronto makes it no easier. I do find it funny how Burke just shoots down other GM's or teams with no issue. He said it about Florida that "we'll have to wait and see on them" and thinks they are one of those teams that just got thrown together, no direction, and will be one and done in the playoffs and no better off.

I also still kind of laugh at how off the wall he went on the "Pittsburgh method" of doing things. I won't say they didn't get lucky as balls in getting Crosby, because if the NHL would have played the year of the lockout, Malkin would have been on the Pens and that could have changed the team, and not made them last. But if you look at the Pens, they drafted Fluery (1st), Malkin (2nd), Crosby (1st), Staal (2nd) four years in a row. So who knows what happens, if they even get Crosby and Staal if that lockout doesn't happen. But Burke makes a good point that he can't just say "ok rebuild #2, you guys don't mind waiting another three years right?"

That #5 pick is going to be very valuable to the team this year, and they need to keep it, or move up in the draft. As it is right now I'd have them taking Galchenyuk, but I could see burke doing something weird here.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

                "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.
