Guardian now confirming that Liverpool have accepted West Ham's bid of £2m now, and £17m later for Carroll, but also saying he will resist.

Andy Carroll will resist a move to West Ham United, even though Liverpool have accepted a bid from the London club that appeared to signal the end of the striker's time at Anfield. Liverpool have told West Ham that they can have Carroll on loan for the season in exchange for £2m, but that West Ham must then pay a further £17m to make the deal permanent if they retain their Premier League status.

The Merseyside club had maintained that they would not loan out Carroll, for whom they paid £35m to Newcastle United, but West Ham's proposal is an acceptable compromise to them. There would be no mere option for West Ham to buy Carroll next summer; if they remained a Premier League club, they would be legally bound to sign him

No idea why we'd do something goofy like that. We're short on strikers as it is. If we were getting 19 mil up front then I'd understand it.

Glad to hear we're keeping Aquilani, he deserves a shot here. The rumors on Agger and Skrtel are irking me because both want and deserve new contracts yet we haven't given them new ones yet. Selling either of them, would be devastating as they both partner very well. Plus we'd have to use a good portion of the sale money to go and buy another defender, not like we're extremely deep at CB.

I also don't get why we've only signed one player, we need to make a decision to try and compete with the big boys, or be cool finishing outside the top 4 most years and occasionally getting in.

Because Liverpool is getting Dempsey, and they've been trying to dump Carroll for a bit now.

Looks like Aquilani signed for Fiorintina.

Rumours that Manchester United are edging closer to completing a deal for Brazilian midfielder Lucas Moura are gaining momentum, with the latest being a report by ESPN that quotes sources as saying Sir Alex Ferguson was keen to sign the player and was close to realising the deal.

"Sir Alex is keen to push through the signing of the young winger and United will have to pay £30 million to get him," the unidentified source is quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, adding further weight to news the transfer has been completed is a report by Daily Mail which suggests Moura is, in fact, set for physical check-up at Old Trafford, ahead of the move. The report states Moura travelled to Manchester from Newcastle, after Brazil beat Honduras 3-2 in the quarter final of the men's football event at the London 2012 Olympics.

I rate him higher than Neymar, (im kind of a Neymar hater). But Im still not sure how much I like this. Too much money, and too many wingers already. Id much rather have the Nuri Sahin rumours be true. He would be much better value and fill a need.

But I wont bitch if it does come true. One of the most talented youngsters in the world, and United will sell him to Madrid in 4 years for a profit anyway.

They have said to put in a bid for 45 mil. Lol they can fuckin have him. Too raw for 45 mil. Hell too raw even for the 30. The more I see it. The more a massive waste of money it looks to be.

PSG is going to ruin a lot of young talent by throwing all this money at them.

He must rather have a little more money and a chance at saying he was on a team that won a trophy, rather than actually playing and being a key member of a team. I don't' see how this guy is a regular at Citeh.
