If Netherlands beats Portugal, and Germany beat Denmark then Denmark, Portugal, and Netherlands all have 3 points. Portugal beat Denmark, but Denmark beat Netherlands, and Netherlands beat Portugal. See the confusion with using head to head? GD comes in to play in this scenario, and my previous post outlines exactly what needs to happen for each team.

Higher number of points in matches with the teams in question is a confusing way to say h2h.. if Netherlands beats Portugal they both have the same number of points however Netherlands would have 3 pts vs Portugal and moves on.. not that confusing bros.. lol boss
Nvm forgot Denmark will be 1 and 2 as. well duhComment

That second goal from Denmark, against Portugal, made a big difference in the GD tie-breaker. Otherwise Netherlands would probably have no shot to advance since they would need to win and have a margin of victory of 3 goals. That's why even if you do lose...every goal is important cause you never know when it will come down to goal differential.Maddon & Friedman: Pissing off the AL East since 2008

I think it's fair on the media's part to wait on the Torres praise until he performs like he did today on a consistent basis against better competition. Sure he played fantastic today, but then again it was Ireland. He needs to keep it up once they reach the knockout stage.Comment

All the media wants to talk about today is that a 2-2 draw between Spain and Croatia sends Italy home. Has them worrying about the 1982 WC or Euro 2004, when the matches felt 'arranged' (though it's ironic that it's the Italians worried about match fixing...)Comment

He left there in the first place because he did not much enjoy being repeatedly told by fans to go back to Africa and that he wasn't a real Italian.Comment
