    From the man's mouth himself:

"It's important we try and utilise our squad and involve everybody," Di Matteo said. "About 99% of my players are internationals, so we have a very good depth to the squad. From September on, we'll be playing solidly – if we get through in the cups – every three days until March. There'll be plenty of games, injuries and suspensions: games enough for everybody."

      Um Yeah...

His contract expires at the end of the year. If he refuses to sign a new contract. Bye, bye. You'll get compensation sure, just as Blackburn did for Junior Hoilett, but it won't be what the club would recoup in a transfer fee if they were to sell him now. Which is why his name keeps getting thrown around.

Why do you think clubs resign players before they've got less than a year left? Why do you think everyone is talking about Walcott leaving Arsenal? There's a reason clubs intentionally target players with only a year left on their contract.

His contract would have expired at the end of the year, but they sold him (I obviously understand the idea of selling a player before his contract runs out). Once Wigan accepted Chelsea's bid though, Moses and Chelsea then agreed to a new contract, that we don't know the deals of yet but I would guess is 2-4 years long. If he refused to sign a new contract, then the transfer wouldn't have gone through.

Why are you even talking about Moses?

Daniel Sturridge's contract expires at the end of the season.

If he stays or go, I don't care. But I do know he isn't going to be happy unless he's a first choice striker.

All Ive heard all over the place was Daniel was surplus. And at this rate, I doubt he extends. Not with Lakaku waiting there to be the real number 2.

My bad anthony, thought you were talking about Moses that whole time.

And yeah I'm not too worried about Sturridge walking at the end of next year, or am I worried about the money we wouldn't get for selling him in January. Unless Lukaku is beastly, I think he'll go on loan next season as well. Maybe Sturridge will be happy with the time he gets this season at his preferred position and decide to re-up.

We've also apparently submitted a 20m bid for Andre Schurrle. If that happens then I could see us selling Sturridge, but I still doubt that we would.
