    TNA Bound for Glory 2012

TNA has had a really strong year. I think I'm going to reward them by spending some money on their biggest pay per view of the year. They turned an unwatchable product into appointment wrestling television...so, they earned some money.

    Good looking card.

Austin Aries (c) v. Jeff Hardy
Bobby Roode v. James Storm - King Mo as special referee
Sting/Bully Ray v. Aces and Eights
    Kaz/Christopher Daniels (c) v. AJ Styles/Kurt Angle v. Chavo Guerrero/Hernandez
    Samoa Joe (c) v. Magnus
Zema Ion (c) v. Rob Van Dam
    Tessmacher (c) v. Tara
    Joey Ryan v. Al Snow

Supposedly, Abyss is coming back during the PPV as well.

Nobody but Ken Anderson is really missing this PPV...so it is good to see TNA fit all of the talent into the pay per view.

I was out watching the Orioles game tonight, did I miss anything worthwhile from tonight's Impact?

Zema Ion vs RVD could be a great match.

Just the usual base hit TNA stuff. TNA is succeeding with those base hits...its always appointment TV as its just a regular ol wrasslin show.

Really solid card. That tag match has a lot of talent in it. RVD/Ion could be good, if RVD shows up. I still really hate Hardy being in the main event, and Storm re-hashing a feud with Roode that seems like it just got over 6 months ago or so. Hardy being the guy who made their promotion look like a 5th rate shit-show when he "wrestled" all hopped up on goofballs for a PPV not that long ago.

Just watched some of it, skipped through some parts and I have to agree.

Also, just sitting on this card and thinking about it, do you all think it was designed to steal WWE fans? You've got a very popular and recognizable name in the main event with Aries in Jeff Hardy. You've got a three-team tag match for the title featuring Kurt Angle, and up until a few weeks ago, the tag division in WWE was still subpar. RVD is also featured in a championship match, and Sting and Bully Ray are in a match as well. And of course, King Mo is a recognizable name as well.

Don't get me wrong, it is a very good card and I think it will be a well-done event, but it just has that feeling it could have been booked a little bit better.

The entire TNA business model is to 'steal from WWE fans', which is a big reason they struggle.

They are starting to carve out their own identity a little more, but years of being WWE lite has buried them deep.

I haven't watched TNA in a little while but like everyone has already said it looks like a really good card. When will this be airing? Tomorrow?

The original Main Event plan was to have Bobby Roode hold the title until Bound for Glory and have James Storm beat him for the title ultimately putting him over as the Top Babyface.

However, they stumbled upon a little buzzsaw named Austin Aries, put the belt on him while he was hot, and here we are...they made a star regardless.

Jeff Hardy in the main event is lame. I don't like Hardy. Never have. But, as long as he shows up sober, I think Aries can drag him to a respectable match. Aries must win though. I thought Aries v. Joe or Aries v. Angle would have been the best matchup...but whatever.

Through the years I always read you guys bash TNA, but now you guys like it?

Just wondering because of the spike/bellator/king mo link, do they put on good shows? Get good ratings? What days are they on TV?

I wonder what day Bellator will be on spike

As long as Austin Aries keeps getting a push through the roof i'll be happy.

I don't like Zema Ion's character and really hope RVD beats him.

For the better part of their history, TNA has been shit. Not the fault of the wrestlers, but more on creative and some of the dumbest storylines and overall confusing TV you'd see (the type of stuff where they throw a ton of shit at the wall and see what sticks).

Over the past 2-3 months or so, they've toned down the shit and it's MUCH more watchable. It's not epic by any means (they still have some silly stuff going on) but you won't get a headache watching their TV (which is a significant compliment). They still have a very good roster of guys, too.

Impact is live Thursday nights 8-10 et.

Their ratings have seemingly forever been around the 1 million mark (give or take a couple 100k). It's been their base forever and they rarely sink or go closer to 1.5 million viewers.

Their PPV buyrates have been a joke over the years, we're talking 20,000-30,000 on average.

I wonder if the plan if for Bellator to be right after TNA and get that 1 million to watch, would be huge for Bellator to get to the million mark for viewers

The quality of the show has improved. It used to be absolutely dreadful. The ratings are the same, but the key is to keep the positive buzz. Ratings take time to build, even when Stone Cold hit it big in WWE, people forget, but it took many months for the ratings to match the buzz.

It airs live on thursdays, but that will probably change. Going live didnt help the ratings beyond the first week, and its cheaper to tape. I think its a mistake to give up and they should keep going live, but hey, its not my money to lose.

The good good thing is Bjorn isnt uptight about wrestling and TNA isnt scared of mma. Dana was uptight ajd never wanyed to cross promote. Bjorn gets along with Dixie Carter and they work together to help each other. The King Mo thing is not the first idea they've pitched to each other. Smith & Wheelock like wrestling too, so they arent afraid to put it over. The wrestling guys obviously understand how to put Bellator over and do on the air.

Neither will fail because the other side refuses to help the other. Its a good relationship. Spike always pushed this with Dana but he wasnt interested.
