It's definitely going to draw a lot of interest. The whole TUF thing is dumb to begin with, but if you're going to do I don't think you can find a better coaching matchup and fight than this.

Ratings will increase compared to the current season....but that's only because the current ratings are downright garbage. It would be an absolute disaster if JON JONES and CHAEL SONNEN couldn't draw more than 650,000 viewers on a night other than Friday.

If you're legit though, this is probably no better than Tito/Ken or the Kimbo season.

But yes, like you said....if they're continuing with the same old tired and played out format, this is as good a coaching match-up they can do. Although, theoretically, you'd want to create a NEW star...but Bonesy said no to Cormier.

I love how the narrative these days is how UFC makes the fights people want to see, records be damned, weight classes be damned, while Bellator sucks because fighters have to earn title shots and treating it like a sport is bad for business.

Remember when Strikeforce would give guys title shots all the time coming off losses, and mma media and UFC fans would rip them and say UFC titles were more pure blah blah blah?

Funny how UFC does the same thing now, but they are the smart ones, and Bellator doesnt know what theyre doing.

Go back to when the Jones vs Sonnen matchup was first announced. Dana answered a ton of questions regarding whether or not Chael deserved it in the first place. His answer was along the lines of no, but people want to see it and no one else stepped up. So what you're saying has not been the case at all.

This is a garbage match, chael has zero percent chance to win, not even a punchers chances, he can get a free shot to start the fight and still lose, he can't do anything to Bones, throw in the fact he hasn't even fought at 205 in years, no recent 205 fights, barely beat Bisping and than was TKOd at MW

Chael is just switching divisions, Brock was switching careers. Dana even admitted that his name had a lot to do with why he was granted such a quick shot. If you're going to go for ratings, fine, but there's still a big difference in doing it with someone who's at least proven in the sport. It's night and day.
