    Debatable.

Only legit contenders he hasn't smashed yet are Hendo & Gustafsson.

Just like GSP with Hendricks & Diaz.

Makes more sense from the perspective of if somebody is going to move up, it should be Silva, who is pretty much a light heavy anyway. Plus I just think when you look at size & skillset, it's a better aesthetic fight than Silva/GSP. I know we disagree on that, and aren't going to change each others minds.

Silva knows the biggest money fight is GSP, and he knows he has little chance of losing, so of course that's the fight he chasing. I don't blame him. He's getting old and now is the time to make as much money as possible before he declines. He'd be a fool to pursue a far more dangerous fight that will also net him less money.

Hendricks and Diaz are new challengers, a year ago that division was cleaned out by GSP. Yes, he has interesting fights out there, but for a P4P fight it makes more sense to have it be against the guys who have accomplished the most and at their peak. I don't think Jones has peaked yet, and there's more risk (long-term) in booking that fight now. Jones can possibly go on for several more years building an incredible mystique that may only have once been rivaled by Fedor. Or, you can have him face Silva and at best look very human, or at worse lose the fight. Then what.. Outside of a Hendo matchup I don't think anyone is really too enthused about his remaining opponents, which interest can dwindle even further if Jones lost to Silva at 205.

Straka says GSP will go to Dana requesting $50M to take this fight with the assumption that he's risking future paydays with the fight.

He was talking how GSP figures he has 10 fights left at $8M per without the Silva fight.

            Smart man.

No way GSP wins this, mentally he's fucked because he thinks he can't.

Any chance we ever see Rory MacDonald vs GSP?

Not likely but it's not impossible come 2014.

Maybe GSP should challenge Bendo so he can be like Anderson

Easy for you to say, you aren't being asked to face a guy twice your size, which will most likely lead to an aura destroying violent KO that will in essence knock tens of millions of dollars off of your net worth.

Why doesn't that pussy Dominic Cruz get in there with Silva while we're at it? Is he a real champ, or what?

Always have this silly argument with Mamba, fighters fight for money, being a great champ or GOAT is fan stuff and stuff fighters say, they also use terms like " looking for big fights"

That's why Andy wants to fight a smaller cash cow and not Jones, it has been happening since the beginning of fight sports

These guys are Prize Fighters, the prize is money, not a legacy, that's kid stuff, make your money, as much as you can as easy as you can and hopefully get out when you can still enjoy it for a long time

You honestly don't think that these guys, at this level, aren't fierce competitors and want to be the best at their craft?

I get it, but GSP is physically capable of moving up so there's a difference. If Cruz was the #2 p4p fighter in the world and the #1 wanted to fight him at a catch weight close to his fighting weight, then yes I'd obviously expect the same out of him.

Sure, but GSP is not about to risk a ton of money for the sake of moving up in weight when he doesn't need to.
