LOL I read that this morning and thought well here's more fuel to the fire for owners not allowing their players to go over. What a blow to them.

Canada got one win over the US (GOLD!) today and will add another on Sunday

Tavares is probably going to be the huge icon the NHL needed to get out of 2018. One of the best players in the league gone for the year. The problem I see is, players want to play in the games, and I could easily see some taking the fines and suspensions they will play in order to represent their country. Even if the NHL season is still going on.

The US had some real chances in the first ten minutes. After that, it was all Canada. The powerplays had me nervous, but US never really generated any sort of scoring opportunity other than the Max P one

Canada just shut everyone down in a way that basically by the time the USA brought the puck out, they had to dump it in to get a line change. Was crazy the cycle they had. Quick played amazing and that could have got ugly quickly if it wasn't for him.

It didn't have the feel of 2010 though, even though everyone said it was basically the 'gold medal game.' I don't think anything will ever top 2010 Olympics final, at least not within the foreseeable future.

Was at the game. Rangers were all over the Bruins for the 1st period but Rask stood on his head to keep the B's in it. From then on it was shit goal tending and even shittier defense. Rangers still had chances but couldn't put pucks into the back of the net. Two hit the post, literally inches of going in, and Boyle wiffed on a 3rd. Callahan was bad, Stepan was awful, and the Bruins are still incredibly dirty.

Frustrating game to watch live.
