Mirror, Telegraph, Star, Mail, and ESPN all running with it. When the Manchester Evening News contacted Manchester United, United responded with no denial.
Van Gaal, is probably the favorite. I don't know who I would prefer. Klopp would be awesome, just ain't happening though. Simeone? Maybe, but more than likely not.Comment

I REALLY think United will go hard after Simeone, but again I think he's wanting to stay at Athletico a bit longer. Van Gaal sure... but if United were smart and lets hope they're not... Frank de Boer or Roberto Martinez are brought in. I just think it's time for United to do what Liverpool did and bring in a younger guy who they stick with. Otherwise if they go after someone like Van Gaal, they'll just be looking for another manager in a few years.Comment

Klopp won't happen, he's really tied to Dortmund. Would be a huge get though if he did take over.

Bring in LVG, and he realistically won't be at United for more than 2-4 years. Everything is so upside down now, him coming in and holding things down for that time period until one of the better longer term guys come available.
Plus LVG is such a hard ass he could come him and see the squad for what it is and he won't be afraid to make the sales. Starting with Fellani.Comment

Yea Klopp is truly a pipe dream. Hell so is Simeone, but decent pipe dreams. It's what they should look at. I don't disagree about LVG. But I actually wouldn't mind him for the reason you mentioned.

I mean thinking about the length of the career that Rodgers could have at Liverpool is mind blowing. If Rodgers retired at the same age as Fergie, and assuming he doesn't leave... that's 30 years. 30 YEARS. Stability is important.Comment

Oh I think LVG would be a good signing don't get me wrong, it's just if I were a United supporter I'd want to just say fuck it, accept the position you're in, and get someone who while they might not bring instant glory, would be someone who would be there at the club for years to come.

The main focus last time was stability. That got them shit and some plan that kept being brought up. For me this time around, I'll take winning, with a proven winner in multiple leagues and the biggest teams in the world to make sure a season like this never happens again.
Tons of the blame for this too goes on SAF, his decisions and his ego got in the way and it cost this team. Now the board will, and should do whatever they want how they want.Comment

I think BR wants to be a legend at Liverpool. The players all seem to love him too, I don't think he'd leave.Comment

I am a bit surprised at the positivity here. 10 years for a title? In what sport is that the norm? Title winning coaches get the axe all the time. Rodgers definitely seems like a good one and he seems a good fit at Liverpool, but I don't know if it's a world where any coach is guaranteed a 5+ year tenure
Thought exercise -
Liverpool win the title this year. What's the lowest average position that would be accepted to guarantee he gets 10 years? CL football from here out? A CL berth every 2-3 years? Just stay in the league, he's already a legend?
I think Arsenal have underachieved and Liverpool kind of support that point. However, I don't think Arsene's Top 4 streak is anything to sneeze at. That kind of consistency is tough and will get harder if money keeps coming in to England. Even then there is a large contingent who want his headComment
