The current home grown players registered for City are:

        Hart (staying)
        Richards (likely leaving)
        Lescott (likely leaving)
        Milner (staying?)
        Rodwell (leaving)
        Clichy (staying?)
Richard Wright (staying, because who cares?)
        Dedryck Boyata (staying, I guess?)

That leaves one (Hart), maybe two/three (Clichy/Milner) players who are homegrown for next year.

The non-home grown players who will play a key part -

        Kompany
        Zabaleta
        Nasri
        Negredo
        Dzeko (maybe he goes?)
        Kolarov (he could go too)
        Navas
        Aguero
        Silva
        Fernandinho
        Jovetic
        Toure

That's 12. Maybe Dzeko or Kolarov leave, but one of the most persistent rumours out there is that Sagna may join. He's not home grown. City will still have a very strong team in the CL, but the reliance on Toure/Aguero really shone through at points of ht season.

I'm not really sure what top class English (or home grown) players are out there that will really bring quality depth to City. Let Sinclair and Barry rot on the bench to make up numbers? Throw tons of money at Shaw and Barkley now that they know about this?

I found this LOL worthy while perusing Wiki. Re. Richard Wright:

On 1 July 2012, Wright signed for Preston North End; however, he left the club only one week into pre-season training as he was suffering from homesickness, having made no appearances for the club.[18]
Preston is a whopping 41 minute drive away from Manchester. City must be paying him a lot if he can finally tolerate being away from the paradise that is Ipswich

I took home-grown to mean players that have been in the city academy. Isn't that what the FFP is trying to encourage? Buy less and develop more. If so, I am excited. I might be the only City fan that would prefer to give our young players a chance instead of buying the best available in the market. Why would UEFA care about how many British players there are on an English team? Thought that was just a concern for the PL.

It is, but Home-Grown means having trained for at least a three year period between the ages of 15-21.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how a bitter, bitter cynic is born. I hate everyone and everything, and fuck it, I'm invading Poland. Glen Johnson, you are my art school rejection.

As Pitty says, they have to have been in England for at least 3 years before 21 to be HG. So it could be a young Honduran that came over, but I can't imagine City have a lot of those. City (and all top clubs) make noise about their academies being where they will draw from. But none of them really ever make it come true

This type of thing is usually very unlikely, the chance of a 15 year old Honduran getting a work permit is

John Guidetti, Karim Rekik, Micah Richards, and Dedryck Boyata come to mind as solid homegrown players that have been with City for 3 years between the ages of 15-21. so four more to go right?

looking forward to seeing what the young players can do against tough competition
