New Japan G1 Climax - All 9 shows on iPPV (8/1-8/11 on Ustream)
They are also popping up everywhere for free, but you have to hurry because New Japan is hunting them down.
Korakuen (N2) & Osaka (N4) are legit show of the year contenders and Osaka is going to go down as an all time iconic show. There are kick ass matches on every show. Ishii is killing it. Archer was great early. Plus the usual suspects like Okada, Tanahashi, etc. Kojima really stepped up his game. Yujio is a fucking riot. Devitt's matches are all fun american style shitfests. Lots of stuff worth watching. Pressed for time, avoid Tenzan, skip Shelton, and most of the openers & second matches are toned down (relatively speaking).

I'll be binge watching...so...I am sure it'll require a lot of fast forward. Also need to watch PWG Is Your Body Ready which has an HOUR LONG IRON MAN MATCH with Adam Cole and Sami Callihan...kinda not looking forward to that one.
Joe Lanza, our usual New Japan Pro Wrestling correspondent had to take the night off, so we won't have the normal full review with star ratings because I have not seen the show yet either. That won't stop us from covering Night 7, we have a full set of results, gifs (via @SenorLARIATO), updated block scoring (via @HulkaMatt) and English commentary translations (via @puro_yottsume ). Enjoy!
Is he going hard cam side on the rest holds though? If not, doesn't know how to work.
Nope. What a greenhorn.
Get this - the director actually has to switch over to one of the other 19 cameras they have set up to catch the action. God. Can you believe this amateur hour shit?
The BIG APPEAL meme comes from the DBS Jr interview with Alvarez & big dave, when he was telling them how Suzuki didn't really like him that much at first, and when he asked him for advice he laid in to him.
"You big, strong. Do big power, then BIG APPEAL! Stick out tongue, middle finger, flex big muscle. BIG APPEAL!"
So you can thank Suzuki for bringing out all that charisma. WWE couldn't figure this out, and stuck him in a COWBOY HAT on Superstars.
Dude he's so good, the more I watch him the more I fall in love. Just oozes charisma now, really works the strong style well, great mannerisms and facials. Night and day from what he was. Hard to believe it's the same person.
Great stuff as Suzuki worked clean with his stablemate & pal.
Suzuki beats him, then beats up the young boys attending to him. He makes Shelton get up on his own, then points to his chest to tell him he has heart, and they do a fistbump. Then he tells him to get lost so he can celebrate his win.
Cool little touches like this when allies face off in these tournaments rule. Even Suzuki isn't a black/white heel, so the characters come off so much less cartoonish.
"This sounds like a broken record, but another all time show for New Japan. I’ve run out of superlatives to describe what this company is doing. Tanahashi & Okada have surpassed every in ring rivalry ever, with the possible exception of Misawa/Kobashi, in terms of match quality. And all of the matches have taken place over the course of roughly one year. I have no more words for how good these two are together and have no idea how they can ever top this run.
This show was amazing. Do whatever it takes to see it."
G1 rolled into Sumo Hall for the first of two consecutive nights to wrap up what to this point had already been a legendary tournament. The booking was likely thrown into a frenzy due to the injuries to Hiroyoshi Tenzan & one of the favorites (and points leader of his block when he went down), […]
I've run out of words for this company. Tanahashi is the best. Maybe ever. And Okada is right on his tail and will probably surpass him because he's 24. TWENTY FOUR. This is the best in ring rivalry, possibly ever. Better than Flair/Steamboat. Better than HBK/Undertaker. Better than Danielson/anybody. Better than RVD/Lynn. And i'm about to concede its better than Misawa/Kobashi.
Watch this spoiler free is you can. Four to five fantastic matches. 5-star main event. I'm done, I cant rate these things anymore. Scale is broken. Three shows of the year in one week. How can anybody rank these? Plus Invasion Attack & WrestleKingdom.
New Japan is the GOAT. That's it. I'm convinced. And it's only a year into this run. And the fucking G1 Finals are tonight and may top it all. Fuck me, it can't get better in a ring. If you aren't watching New Japan, you lose.
