Are you kidding? Have you seen him play? Never steps into the pocket, throws off his back foot, slings the ball wherever he wants. If he was such a great pro-bowl quarterback he would be having a better season despite his team.

Not to mention, other teams would have been willing to give up picks for him besides the Bears. Also, if he was such a great quarterback don't you think McDaniels would have kept him?

I'd love for you to find me the part where I said he was "great". Of course he's been pretty mediocre this year, but he's the far and away the best talent they have on the offensive side of the ball.

But again blaming him and calling him a "bad" quarterback is just stupid, IMO. Of course he hasn't helped his own cause but he is hardly the number one reason why this Bears team is in disarray.

I would be so upset with Jerry Angelo for trading away the future for him. I agree, the pieces aren't in place for him to succeed. But again, at the beginning of the season people were placing him as one of the best quarterbacks in the league. This is surely not the case.

I called him a young, pro bowl QB. I believe all of those facts are true. It means he's young... has been to a pro bowl. He's been pretty bad this year, I'll admit but he hasn't been "garbage". Most people in Chicago that can actually watch this team are not blaming him because they see what a terrible supporting cast this is, and still know that he is their most talented player.

Why do people always point to Manning's rookie year when making excuses for young QBs who play poorly. Cutler possibly throwing for more TDs in his 4th year than Manning did in his rookie year isn't a positive comparison.

None of the QBs you mentioned were good when they lead the league in INTs. Cutler isn't good either he's average. He's lead the league in redzone INTs for two straight years. His INT total has increased every year since he's been in the league. He's gifted physically but he's a terrible decision maker, going back to when he had talent in Denver. Playing in Chicago with their roster and coaches have just exposed the issues that he's always had.

Eli won a SuperBowl while being top 3 in Ints. Ben and Kurt last year were top 3 in Ints. Is that better?

Just sayin, I would have a much easier time listenting to people bash him if the only thing they said wasnt the interceptions argument. Each interception thrown has it's own story....

Oh and the pouting face one gets old too. Him pouting has absolutely nothing with his ability to throw a spiral or read a defense.

The only thing lamer than the INT argument is the probowl argument. Cutler shouldn't have made the probowl, Rivers who was far better than him in every category but yards should've had his spot Besides even Vince Young has been a probowler.

Call me when Cutler:

can throw for 30 TDs in a season
can complete 65% of his passes
stops leading the league in redzone INTs

Any other QB in the league that can be considered good has done at least one of these things. With the exception of Aaron Rodgers and Eli Manning who both have a very good chance of breaking the 30 TD mark this season.

Oh yeah also call me when he can finish a season with a QB rating above 90.

Kurt actually engineers an offense. Big Ben makes plays at the moments his team needs him too to win games.

Jay Cutler does neither. Chicago traded 2 first round picks for a guy that succeeded in the same system as Brian Griese and Jake Plummer. Cutler doesn't even make his players around him better. He struggles along with them.

Cutler couldn't even win in college. And before you spout of "Vanderbuilt", you need to go back and look at how many players from there ended up getting drafted. It's a lot more than Cutler lovers want to believe. Yet he couldn't even beat teams like Mid Tenn St and Navy.

Jay Cutler = "system" QB. Without the system, you're seeing how garbage he is. The only thing that can save him now is possibly Mike Shanahan, which might happen. And if it does, say goodbye do the dominant defense Chicago is generally known for.

Since the middle of 2006 we haven't been dominant anyways.

I'm really not going to say much in this thread as I've said alot in about 15 others but IMO Cutler isn't as bad as this year indicates(a lot has gone wrong besides Cutlers picks on the offensive side of the ball) but isn't nearly the next Brett Favre as many Chicago fans hoped.

He is young and good...Most QB's that lead the league in Int's is the best player on his team...Which Cutler is. If he was bad, he would have been pulled.

Its not like Cutler is winging his team up and down the field, and his INTs are just a byproduct of him completing 30-yard pass after 30-yard pass. Amazingly, with the exception of 1 or 2 games this year, Cutler was never a catalyst for the Bears offense. In almost every game he was along for the ride. And if the offense did manage to get into scoring position, THAT was when Cutler would turn the ball over.

LOL He threw 8 of those near league leading TD passes in the final two weeks when his team was well out of contention for anything already and one game was against the Lions..

What the F--K does that matter...He threw what he threw.

It is very difficult to actually defend Cutler, but when you come back with garbage like that, it all of a sudden isn't so hard anymore.

He didn't really make anything happen on offense. He was like Jalen Rose on the Bulls a few years back when Rose would average 20ppg simply because SOMEONE had to score points. But it wasn't like Rose was the catalyst of the team.

Cutler attempted a lot of passes because he thankfully didn't get injured, the Bears never pulled him, and they couldn't run consistently. But its not like the Bears were a great passing team but a bad running team...they were a bad passing team and a bad running team.

I don't know...but it seemed to me in the Bears games I watched that Cutler was just another Bears player putting his time in and then collecting his paycheck. I didn't see anything from him (other than the last Viking game) which displayed leadership or competitiveness.
