the best worst and steal part.... worst part of this whole post... Panthers did draft impact players tho which I'm happy about, Kuechly will start, Aminitolu will start, Adams will most likely play the slot and will definitely be the PR, Norman could start at CB anything is better than how our CBs not named Chris Gamble played last year. The only thing I can think of with the punter pick is that is way cheaper to have a 6th round punter than it is to sign one in FA.

This K the Rams took looks incredible. I'm more excited by him than any of the other players we took. Something like 24 consecutive FG's made last season, with 9 (NINE!) of them coming from 50+. Doesn't matter what level of football you are playing, that's pretty crazy. They cut Josh Brown, the most overpaid player in the league the last few years, a half hour after the selection.

I definitely feel like Upshaw will be a star and a force playing opposite Suggs, and I do like the KO pick in the second to fill the LG spot, but overall I'm not really a fan of this draft at this point.

Jenkins and James address our major need, which is the lack of offensive "playmakers". Guys who can change a game with one play. I would imagine Jenkins might see a good amount of time as a returner, and will help stretch the field as a receiver, opening up opportunities for Davis, Crabtree, and Manningham. Looney and Slowey address o-line depth, although I do wish Harbaugh would've traded up and grabbed DeCastro when he slid down to the bottom of the 1st round. Fleming and Johnson add depth to the d-line and linebacker corps, where we are excellent in terms of starters, but lacking in quality depth. And Robinson helps fill the need for a backup vacated by Reggie Smith.

I'm excited about the James pick, but also confused by it. Where does he fit in with Gore, Hunter, and Bradshaw? Also, I'm rather ticked we didn't grab Dennard in the later rounds. We could've used another cornerback, and he was a steal.

Fits in the way Sproles does in a crowded Saints backfield with him, Thomas, and Ingram.

Figure James will get around 30-40 carries next season and catch 50-60 passes IMO. He'll get return duty too at times. I love the James pick. I honestly thought he would have been a tremendous pick for Green Bay

I think you are being too harsh. Many of those picks were later round picks, so you can't really expect them to do anything. Eddie Royal had a 1000-yard season with Denver. Josh Morgan is a part of SF's offense...pretty good for a 6th round pick. King played many years in the NFL. Kevin Jones was good with Detroit before he got hurt. Suggs and Davis were contributors to Cleveland for a few years. Freeman was a great player for GB.

I don't think those really hold up. No one expected Will Furrer to really be much more than a backup in Chicago for example. All those names for VaTech and none of them really jump out as "OMG I can't believe that guy didn't do anything". Jones got hurt or IMO he would have been a really solid back.

Still trying to come to grips with the Redskins drafting Cousins, but the positives is that you will have two quarterbacks learning the system together, which should accelerate the time it takes for them to learn the playbook and it will push both players.

Though without a second round pick, I am not happy we didn't pick someone who would have an impact somewhere else.

I think the draft grade from Lefty was a pretty good one.

Lions could have used help at nearly every position defensively except DT, but instead took a luxury pick on a recovering WR. Still a head scratcher considering. Look at Indy, their whole draft was based on making Luck comfortable and with the Skins not having a 1st rounder for the next 2 years it was pretty foolish, IMO, to draft a back up QB when Grossman would be fine in that capacity for the next 2 years or so.
