2012 NFL Draft Thread

I was going to ask about Randle....seems clear cut who the top 3 are in Blackmon, Jeffrey, Floyd...but you got guys like Sanu and Randle I'd guess would be in that tier (mind you I LOVE Sanu)...gimme a report on Randle...I know Jets could use a playmaker at WR....
 
I really hope Khalil ends up entering the draft, having the Panthers grab him would solidify the Oline for years. Gross-Wharton-R.Khalil-M.Khalil-J.Otah. *sigh* I can dream.

Who are the best linebackers projected to be in the draft?

Great blocker down field, not crazy fast but has a smooth stride that allows him to glide past DBs and get open over the top, no real dropsies issues that I can recall, above average to elite size at 6'3, 200 ... just an all around good player. Very polished and he makes things look easy since he has a smooth and effortless style.

Compared to Dwayne Bowe and Brandon LaFell, he's the best of the group.

He just screams someone like Julio Jones in terms of he doesn't seem fast but the few times I've seen him break down the sideline blowing past his defender, he has that sneaky speed because of long strides.

and DAMN Sanu returning...ugh.

He's not really a physical freak like Julio though. Julio has a huge build and also insanely explosive. Randle is more of a fluid player than an explosive player. His best case NFL ceiling would be Reggie Wayne, but in a bit taller frame.
 
If Kalil is leaving I wonder if Barkley is too. Offensive line was USC's primary weakness this season and Kalil leaving sure won't help that.
 
Wake Forest WR Chris Givens will forgo his senior season and enter the 2012 NFL draft.

A redshirt junior, Givens earned first-team All-ACC honors ahead of better known prospects like Dwight Jones (UNC) and T.J. Graham (North Carolina State) with a monster final season. Givens led the conference in receiving, setting a new Wake Forest school record with 1,330 yards on 83 receptions (16.0 average) and nine touchdown catches. Listed at 6-foot, 195, Givens was consistently dominant with seven 100-yard games in 2011. CBS Sports draft analyst Rob Rang has praised Givens' "straight-line speed and playmaking ability," and he'll be a candidate to rise up NFL draft boards with a big Combine in February.

Syracuse DE Chandler Jones will forgo his senior season and enter the 2012 NFL draft.

A fourth-year junior, Jones is the younger brother of Ravens DT Arthur Jones and MMA fighter Jon "Bones" Jones. SI's Tony Pauline reported Friday that Jones received a third-round grade from the NFL's Draft Advisory Board before declaring. Listed at 6-foot-5, 265, Jones earned first-team Big East honors in 2011 despite missing five games with a leg injury. He tallied 38 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and an interception in seven starts this season.

North Carolina DE Quinton Coples, who entered the 2011 season as the top-rated senior prospect for the 2012 draft, was accused by UNC insiders of "playing not to get injured" for much of his final year.

The entire UNC roster seemed to be efforting to avoid injury against Missouri in the Independence Bowl. Coples' conservative play may have resulted in slight production dip, going from 10 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss as a junior to 15.0 and 7.5 as a senior, respectively. Coples' numbers jumped in the Tar Heels' final few games. According to SI.com draft analyst Tony Pauline, Coples "did not play with a sense of urgency" as a senior. He's still a likely top-15 pick.

Virginia Tech CB Jayron Hosley will forgo his senior season and enter the 2012 NFL draft.

It's believed Hosley received a second-round grade from the NFL Draft Advisory Board. Listed at 5-foot-10, 171, Hosley is going to have to show up to the Combine bigger than that to solidify a day-two selection. Hosley was a second-team All-ACC pick as a junior, picking off a Hokies-high four passes. Hosley led the NCAA with nine interceptions as a sophomore.

San Diego State RB Ronnie Hillman will forgo his junior and senior seasons to enter the 2012 NFL draft.

Despite a mammoth redshirt sophomore campaign, Hillman's decision was met by groans in the draftnik community. Listed at only 5-foot-10, 190, Hillman is undersized and was underutilized in the Aztecs' passing game, catching 33 career passes. During his freshman and sophomore seasons, Hillman did combine for 3,243 yards and 36 touchdowns on 573 carries (5.66 YPC). He just turned 20 in September. Hillman told the San Diego Union-Tribune that he received "around" a third-round grade from the NFL Draft Advisory Board.

Surprised to see Hillman coming out. If he stayed I think he could of become a second rounder next season. Don't think he will go in the 3rd round like the DAB has him graded.
 
I'm intrigued by Brock Osweiler. The guy is absolute huge for a QB. I wonder if he could make the transition to TE.
