Tonight's game had no free agent pickups of note ... and the Philadelphia Eagles have proven trying to spend your way to a Super Bowl clearly doesn't work.

What turned this game into a glorified game of street ball? A) Crippling defences with rule changes that absolutely kill defence; B) College offensive schemes with quarterbacks who run faster than many receivers.

It's most A. Receivers have it made in today's game. Any team with a good offensive line and at least a decent QB will have an effective offence.

Free agency had nothing to do with the change in the game. I honestly can't remember the last Super Bowl winner with a bunch of free agent mercenaries.

remember when Ferragamo was the QB for the Rams ....they lost To The Steelers in the SB. I am not betting on a 7 game starter to go all the way. Especially a running QB.

Makes sense since the 49ers and Seahawks each beat the Patriots this year. Also makes sense since the 49ers and Seahawks beat the Ravens (practically the same team) last year with far lesser teams.

nothing I have said is remotely stupid. I have given views of experience and inexperience.

veteran is always better then rookie, experience is always better then inexperience. When inexperience succeeds too often there is something wrong with the system.

I enjoy the talents of the Wilsons and Kaepernicks of the world. Its fun to spectate the action. But there is no way that many young QBs are that good, that often, that quickly unless there is something lacking in the over all system. That all i'm trying to say.

Kaepernick is for all intents and purposes a rookie with hardly any under center experience and the players you mention are just the early part of the free agency era when less experience was succeeding more often. But are you also trying to say that these 3 and 4 guys will be just as successful long term as those 2 ? that would prove how dumbed down things are and how its too easy to be considered that good in the league now.

I doubt Wilson and Kaep will be that good for that long. Same may be true for RG3.

reaching for what ? I am talking about a wide ranging statistical issue and over all historical aspects of team athleticism.
