2014 Oscar nominations

- Their love for Nebraska, which I thought was bad and sstole too many nominations
- Their disinterest in Inside Llewyn Davis
- Snubbing Tom Hanks
- Their love for American Hustle, but I already knew that so its not a huge deal.

I thought it was the best movie of the year. I loved the Wolf but American Hustle was fantastic.

WTF, 0 nominations for Catching Fire!?!?! OMG! Hello, does anyone else realize "Catching Fire" almost made as much money as Iron Man 3 and had about the same amount of action as Lone Survivor! Jennifer Lawrence had SUCH an amazing Mocking Jay outfit on in Catching Fire too!!! I don't want to spoil anything else for you guys, but in Mocking Jay she is totally gonna look soooooo much more awesome and kick so much more ass!

Why?

I thought it was the best movie of the year. I loved the Wolf but American Hustle was fantastic.

I thought the movie tried to hard, was a little sloppy, had some over-acting, and is somewhere around 20th of the year for me.

I fell asleep during 12 Years A Slave, but every time I woke up the black dude was being whipped or abused in some sort of way. I didn't finish the movie but from what I did see it was boring and repetitive. I understand they want the audience to understand the abuse he took but it was redundant, doesn't make the movie better just because he was abused so much.

I'll finish it eventually but I don't really want to.

American Hustle is incredibly boring. What a waste of an incredible cast. It's not interesting, funny, or particularly well done.

Have no idea how it's nominated for a million Oscars. I've walked out of one movie in my life (Meet Joe Black), but I was clock watching on this one and nearly handwaved it.

Alright so I was high and on my 3rd film in a row when watching 12YAS the first time. Watched it again tonight and it is indeed a great film all around.

I don't particularly enjoy downers like this so it wouldn't get my vote but I can easily see it winning best picture. I still need to see Nebraska, Phil, Her, and Dallas Buyers Club but this is a film I can easily see the academy picking and I wouldn't argue it one bit.

#THEWOLF was more entertaining and will have INFINITE rewatchability. On a Goodfellas, Scarface type level where you can just watch that shit a million times no matter how ridiculous you finally see it as.

Hustle was a very good film for those that are more into the subtly of film. It just lacked the big payoff.

What's funny is David O. Russell was trying to do this too ... just ended up making a third rate one. The best description for AH is if a bunch of A-listers (no Olyphant here) wanted to do "scene night" at a local acting workshop and chose partners.

AH is less of a movie and more of a series of moderately humorous vignettes featuring likable actors in goofy costumes.

It's bad enough that you spoil the movie in the title, but he didn't even spend 12 years as a slave.

Watching the movie, no more than a year and a half could have pasted, if that.
