Let me just say that I agree with all of you...Crabtree won't get more money if he sits out, and he should sign now. HOWEVER, I think the advice he is getting is to stay out, and land a bigger contract in an uncapped NFL. They're essentially rolling the dice.

In the span of about three weeks, first-round draft pick Michael Crabtree has gone from reportedly sitting out the season and re-entering next year's draft to now flying from Tampa to S.F. to meet with the 49ers.

Yesterday, Deion Sanders dropped plenty of not-so-subtle hints that something may be in the works between the two sides. Today, we have this news from ESPN:

Crabtree left for San Francisco from Tampa, Fla., on Monday to renew contract talks with the 49ers, according to multiple sources.

Crabtree was unavailable for comment. The Dallas native and former Texas Tech receiver has been training in Tampa the past few weeks.

Eugene Parker, Crabtree's agent, is scheduled to arrive in San Francisco on Tuesday. Parker declined comment when reached.

Something tells us this sudden turn around might have something to do with the 49ers' 3-1 start. He can play for a winner and make millions? Sounds better than working out in Tampa, living off Subway endorsements.

The 49ers still have until November 17th to sign Crabtree in order for him to play this season.

Deion: Crabtree getting close to signing

NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders hinted on Sunday that holdout wide receiver Michael Crabtree may soon cave and sign with the 49ers, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Our View: Sanders is a well-known Crabtree confidant, and him dropping hints very well could be the prelude to a contract. Despite being 3-1, San Francisco has a dramatic lack of weapons on the offensive side of the ball, and obviously, the longer Crabtree holds out the more money he is losing. A deal makes too much sense for one not to get done soon.

I just love how Crabtree wanted more money even though he slipped in the draft partially because he was hurt and didn't even run the 40.

I can't even remember the last high profile skilled positions player to not run the 40 that didn't slip in the draft and he still thought he deserved to be paid more than every other receiver.
