85 Man Rosters

Because their code is weak. You saw what happened last year when they added a single team, other teams started to go nuckin futs and disappear. Could you imagine them adding more players? Shit...

This is a theme though and frankly it sucks. Their code is so cluster fucked that they can't add shit to it without it fucking something else in the ass, probably why we get the same game every year with fluff.

You do realize that's how all code is, right? You put a new line of code somewhere, you fuck something else up.

I did not. I must admit I know nothing about code. I just think they would've made it easier on themselves. Oh well.

I also have a feeling its a memory hassle. Since they can't seem to get the memory for everything I'm guessing this would take up a lot more memory.

I just think its a really humerous thing to ask for this when the shit we have been askin for has been utterly fucked!!! And Im a fan of the game...

We can ask for 85, but yall know well get 82.5 and a system crash involved as well.

Yeah, that's pretty much how coding is in general. A video game is really nothing more than a really fucking long mathematical equation... you add a few more numbers in the equation, all of the sudden the shit doesn't add up.

Plus the change is exponentially expensive memory-wise. Adding 15 players per roster times 120 teams times however-the-fuck-many attributes each player has, plus whatever fields in the player database we don't see... to top that off, if they have to go up an integer type just to enter a new maximum number of players, it increases the space taken up by that to a ridiculous degree, not to mention coding support so CPU teams realize they have the extra space. In the final cost/benefit analysis, I can see why they've chosen not to increase it.

That doesn't explain most of the other bonehead moves, but I get this one

I wish that the 360 and PS3 versions were different. Blu-Ray seems to solve many memory issues. Not that they would add it though, who knows.

^Certainly, but when you take into acount all of the aforementioned code-talk, it makes a lot of sense as to why they don't do this thing in particular... I can't speak on the other missteps by EA.

i just would have thought that the game would be coded more in objects.
an object to control this, an object to control that.

in the end just having a bunch of call statements to make things happen on screen.

while each object would be complex, i'd think it'd allow things to become more isolated.

If you remember alot of the early work on madden this year was streamlining code to make it more effective. hopefully NCAA is already doing this.

A bigger roster would be awesome. It sucks having to leave out players on the rosters because the Ducks play pretty deep (injury problems haha) so instead of having like 9 receivers, I only get to put in 7, which leaves 2 guys who get playing time during the season sometimes off, and obviously they won't show up later in my dynasty. Also it would be nice to be able to redshirt 10 or so players instead of 3 or 4

They went from 55 to 70 from NCAA '04 to '05 seamlessly. I'm going to need a better reason than "code" for why they can't go from 70 to 85.

Like someone else mentioned, Madden tried to simplify their code because that is what was causing major problems. Since NCAA is always a year behind I'm guessing they still use the same code that if you change the slider settings, Iowa's facemasks turn white or something
