Thanks guys. Although my Pacers chise does take up most of the free time I do have to play games, this chise is still very much fun and I try to update it whenever possible.

Barring any file corruptions because of patches or anything, this one will definitely go the distance. Might take a while though lol....

Porcello Hangs 11 K's In Only Second Career Start, Earns First Win In Majors

Porcello gets ready to ring up Jim Thome. Porcello struck out 11 batters and held a potent White Sox offense to only 3 runs in 8 and two thirds innings.

The Tigers ended up beating the White Sox tonight by the slimmest of margins, 4-3 in front of 33,744 anxious fans at Comerica. Rick Porcello picked up the victory, his 1st of the season and of his young MLB career, striking out 11, while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits in 8 and two thirds innings of work. Porcello would've been able to pitch a complete game but the White Sox looked ready to storm back and Porcello gave up a 2 run shot to Jermaine Dye in the top of the 9th. Tigers Manager Jim Leyland took no chances, pulling the young Porcello and sending in Fernando Rodney, who earned his 3rd save of the season. Leading the offensive charge was Magglio Ordonez, who batted in 3 runs; 1 off an RBI single in the 1st and 2 off a 2 run shot in the 3rd, his 1st homer of the season.

The series wraps up tomorrow afternoon with a matchup of Dontrelle Willis (1-0 , 1.50 ERA) against Jose Contreras (0-1 , 3.60 ERA), the latter trying to prevent his visiting White Sox from being swept.

I don't think I've ever struck out that many batters against the CPU. That was awesome. :bow:

Happy I was able to get the win, considering the injuries, and Laird and Everett both taking a routine day off.

Where's Messenger? His idea of having Josh Anderson lead off and Granderson hit 2nd has worked really fucking well.

Sick game by Porcello, almost went the distance......he must have some filthy stuff, what's his fastball max out at? You did the right thing getting him out of there though, shit can get out of hand against the cpu quickly

What are you using to capture your screen shot for the game summary? That shit is crisp as hell....

I am using Knight's rosters with Razr's pitching edits which (I think) are more accurate/realistic.

His fastball is around 94 mph. He's also got a pretty nasty curveball that the White Sox hitters just looked at as it painted the bottom end of the strike zone. Also a very nice changeup that had them off balance. His delivery I think makes a big difference as well. It's smooth as shit.

But yeah, in the bottom of the 8th, I told myself, "Let me get Rodney warmed up just in case shit happens." Porcello was running on fumes but I wanted to try for the CG. Once he gave up the shot, I gave him a visit to the mound and put in Rodney. He left to a standing ovation and tipped his hat. :yahootongue:

As far as the screen goes, just the standard PS Save Screenshot feature, then save to a usb drive and transfer to PC.

The game was overcast and imo overcast game screenshots don't come out as nice because of the dullness, if that makes any sense. Screens look really great when the sun is out shining bright.

Tigers' Porcello Picks Up First Win

Rick Porcello was showered in beer Wednesday by his Tigers teammates after the right-hander earned his first Major League victory, a 4-3 decision over the division rival White Sox.

Yet it speaks to both his age as well as to irony in the fact that he isn't even old enough to drink the stuff they used to drench him.

"That's all right; I spit it out," mused Porcello, who is 20 years, three months and 22 days old.

Porcello (1-0), making his second big league start, worked eight and two thirds innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out eleven and walking one. He allowed an RBI in the 3rd inning but kept the White Sox scoreless until the top of the 9th where Jermaine Dye finally managed to get a solid hit and blast a 2 run shot to right center field.

Magglio Ordonez had a solid afternoon with three RBIs. He had a run-scoring single in the first, and then he drilled a two run dinger, his 1st of the season, that would put the Tigers up 3-1 early. Miguel Cabrera padded the Tigers lead in the home half of the 8th with a solo shot to left center, his 3rd of the season.

"He commanded the strike zone pretty good. He went right after them," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said of Porcello. "He threw strikes. He challenged them. They hadn't seen him before; that always a big advantage. I thought he pitched very well.''

Porcello, the Tigers' first-round pick in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, raced through the Minor Leagues -- make that Minor League. He played for just one team last season, Class A Lakeland. He then made the Tigers' roster out of Spring Training.

"Coming through the Minor Leagues, not many guys are fortunate to be here at a younger age. It's pretty special for me to be here right now,'' Porcello said. "But once you're here, it doesn't matter ages or anything like that. You have a job to do, and focus on that. You can't get caught up in age."

Porcello showed poise beyond his years against a veteran lineup that included Carlos Quentin and possible future Hall of Famer Jim Thome.

"I always watched and admired him as a kid," Porcello said of Thome. "I have a great respect for him. So it's pretty nice."

"Porcello's curveball was moving very good, on the hands of the batter,'' Ordonez said. "I think it was a pretty good performance. He's got the stuff of a 25-year-old."

The Tigers have the opportunity to earn their first series sweep of the season this afternoon in game three of their series with the White Sox. ​
