Another Reason Why I Think Freeman > Sanchez

I would love to see Freeman's "Dropped Interceptions" total so we could compare, but since Football Outsiders is a piece of shit website with zero credibility, they don't even have the figures available.

In all the games I saw he had a few, I don't think it was too ridiculous... but really... who cares, that was such a useless stat. That's like saying that we can go back every single year and erase all the interceptions that were tipped of off a WR's hands, they don't count, shouldn't, nope, not against the QB... but the ones that were dropped interceptions should count as interceptions, so in reality every QB in the NFL sucks balls and turns it over A LOT. That dropped interception stat has got to be one of the stupidest stats I have seen in all of sports.

I mean... the dropped interception stat just gets so screwed up when the defender actually catches it... should we say it like they should/could of dropped it? What if a QB has a dropped reception, bobbled by a defender which causes a dropped interception, only to be caught by another defender who gets the interception, but since it was a dropped ball does it even count? Yeah I'm talking to Eli Manning fans too, when you pull that stupid "So many of his interceptions were tipped balls"... it doesn't matter, a pick is a pick, a completion is a completion, and a dropped interception is just an incompletion, nothing more.

I'm guessing you are a Falcons fan??? And I'm willing to say that the only real hard looks you got at Freeman were against the dirty birds, some of his worst games of the season. Grimes raped him and should have had some more INTs, but that was an exception, not a regular occurrence. Promise.

Also, OneBeer... Earlier I think the point people were arguing was that Freeman shouldn't be compared to Sanchez but instead compared to the best of the best if he is as great as BigBucs makes him. I was simply saying that Freeman has poise and maturity beyond his years.

I see what you're saying, the numbers are the numbers, but... it's absolutely relevent when discussing any quarterback to discuss dropped interceptions and tipped balls. this is a bit of information that differentiates between someone who watches the game and who just reads the stat lines. For example, if it wasnt for the dropped passes, Aaron Rodgers, who already put up a career playoff run this year, would have had a LEGENDARY postseason if it wasnt for all the drops.

to use another quarterback for example, Kyle Orton. the man is a fantasy machine. he puts up the numbers. and if you look at his stats he looks like a fantastic quarterback. but he puts those numbers up in garbage time. he just pads his stats. hes extremely shitty when it actually matters.

its not to say that the actual interception total should be discounted, which is an assumption you kinda just made and threw out there that i didnt see made in the post you responded to, but it is in fact a very relevent point to acknowledge when discussing a quarterbacks ability.

Nobody gives a shit if Freeman is better than Sanchez, if you want to praise your QB then tell me why he is better than Matt Ryan, Sam Bradford, Joe Flacco, etc.... For real, praising Freeman in comparison to Sanchez won't get any love here, Sanchez is not somebody I would be proud to compare my QB against.

9 TDs, 3 INT, 1155 yds, 60% cpt, 4-2 record (all on the road) in the playoffs, when it counts. Crunch those numbers.

Dropped interceptions aren't even a real stat. Why does the article fail to mention the two dropped balls from our WR's this year that were intercepted or the touchdown passes that were dropped?

I guess we should give the Patriots SB XL victory because of dropped interceptions then too.
