Any of you clowns play Gears of War 2 ?

Just wondering. Outside of 1-2 guys (quietstorm/twigg) never much played with any MMers or VSNers.

Just dled the Snowblind pack. Much better IMO than the combustibles may need help with the new Horde acheivements.

I wasnt too crazy about it the first few times I played either. But once I gave it a chance it became one of my favorite games ever.


Much as I love Halo ... great maps and options are ruined by ridiculous bunny hopping and too many crappy weapons.
Lancer/SG/Boltok/Sniper >>> Assault rifle/SG/Magnum/Sniper in Halo by a clear mile.
I do wish both games would get rid of the stupid Melees. Both games are kinda fucked with them.


Gears is alot darker and grittier and really isnt a run and gun shooter. Its like choosing between a hot bitch with big tits or a hot bitch with a big ass.:tee:

Noone on MM played it for more than a week which made me realize what a great game it was.

Sports gaming sites and shooters dont mix for whatever reason.

i played R6:Vegas and COD4 with MM'ers for months upon months, even more-so than any sports game.

I remember playing you guys in RB6 for a month maybe 2 before everyone started dropping out. Good games.
Im pretty sure your guy was more pink than red though.


And yeah , theres been 3 title updates since launch.
Matchmaking is better , playlists are much better , and lagswitching/standbying has big penalties.

Much better experience than at launch.

Gears of War 2: All Fronts announced

Looks like Epic's releasing an add-on with seven new maps and a new campaign level.

New maps:
Allfathers Garden: Honor the sacred grounds of the Coalition founders in this explosive map, where powerful weapons catalyze fast and furious action at this COG landmark.

Memorial: Set near the Eternal Flame, which pays tribute to the fallen soldiers on the battlefield, a hard-fought battle ensues at the Tomb of Unknowns. Putting their flank formation and evasive skills to the test, players will fight to control the Boomshot.

Sanctuary: Once a peaceful ground for reflection and remembrance, all that remains of the Sanctuary is the chill of death. Feast your eyes on the arsenal of weapons available as you make your way through the tight paths and blind corners of the Locust-damaged temple corridors.

War Machine: In the abandoned train station that once served as a hub for travel, players will need to master the Longshot, Mulcher and Boomshot weapons to advance the fight while evading fire from the platforms above.

Highway: Take the fight deep into the Locust Hollow in the complex passages of this underground highway system brimming with enemy vermin. Stick together, separate the enemy and have an exit strategy ready or it'll be a one-way trip.

Way Station: Sitting in limbo between death and "processing" are Locust way stations filled with fallen COG soldiers. Tread lightly and practice patience as it's better to sacrifice firepower for stealth while navigating this minefield of hidden grenades.

Nowhere: Set in the middle of what was once a destination for weary desert travellers, the land is now barren and devoid of life. Pick off your enemies with the Longshot sniper rifle and make your way to the stairwell with a well-fortified team during this intense firefight.

The download will cost 1600 points. There will also be a retail release for $19.99 which will include all previous map packs.

Nice.... Im back in love with this game. The patches have made the game playable again. There is still some problems, but not like it was when the game first launch. Im glad War Machine is back, one of my favorite Gears 1 map.

War Machine was alot of fun. Im guessing theyre just going to add lots of Moss and icicles to it.

New patches have made it very playable. I will say Ive become such a statwhore I have a ridiculously short fuse with the asshats I play with when they run in aimlessly and get killed in the first 30 seconds of a map.

LOL, I hope they dont turn War Machine into an ice stage. We have plenty of those, thanks to the last map pack.

Does anyone know why free maps for Gears went the way of the dodo? I mean besides the fact that MS is a bunch of money grubbing assholes? It seems that free maps got grouped into the same category as $5 arcade games. When is the last time we''ve seen one of them?

I remember Epic fought tooth and nail with MS to release free maps for Gears 1 and they eventually came to a compromise where the maps cost money for the forst six months or so and then they were free. I guess that isn't happening this go 'round?
