My company usually does a quarterly meeting at the Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express, the former AAA affiliate of the Astros. The team is owned by Nolan Ryan, so starting this year, they are now the Rangers AAA team.

Chris Johnson was the big prospect the last few years. I saw guys like Eric Young Jr come in as visitors. The Rangers don't have much to be excited about at the AAA level, but maybe i'll catch a decent MLB rehabber at some point.

AAA has become kind of thin on high level talent lately. With the emphasis on youth in the big leagues, AAA has kind of become a stashing place for the AAAA players or career minor leaguers.

I may be wrong but don't many players jump from AA straight to the majors as well?

Most are doing that, or spending about a week and a half in AAA.

Like North said, it's basically become the AAAA or Tomas Perez haven. Talent doesn't spend a ton of time there.

My hometown team is the Quad City River Bandits.They are currently the Cardinals Low-A Affiliate. However the park is one of the nicest minor league parks in the nation and has one of the best views of any minor league park in the nation. It was recently renovated and with Yankee Stadium closing down two years ago Modern Woodman Park(Formerly John O'Donnel Stadium) is now the third oldest operational ball park in America behind only Fenway Park and Wrigley Field.

I might make it down to some Peoria Cubs games as well.

Campbell's Field is pretty sick, too...

I'll probably make it to more Phils games than Riversharks games again, but we'll see.

You go to any last year? A kid from my high school, Jay Austin, played there. He was their top pick a few years back but has really struggled so I think he may repeat single-A again. Tons of speed and a strong arm but no plate discipline whatsoever. Hope he can straighten it out though. His uncle was my football coach in HS and a huge influence on me. I was gone a year before Jay was a freshman, but I've definitely been following his progress and hope for both his and the 'Stros sake that he pans out. Let me know if you go to any games this year, I'd like some first hand feedback on how he looks.

The funny thing is that Pujols stared at his walk-off homerun against the Cubs with his bat in the air for 10 seconds and quick stepped his way to home plate. Granted, he didn't blow a kiss to the pitcher, but nobody is saying boo about it.

I don't care about either scenario but lets be consistent, especially because a Cardinals fan bumped the thread.

Pujols is the greatest hitter of our generation by a mile, best player of the last decade by a mile, and he isn't going to stop. Yes he should act like he's been there done that before because he has many times, but I think he's earned the right to look at his greatness during a walk off. At least he isn't blowing kisses to the pitcher like Harper did yesterday.

I agree, but they were both mocking the other team, which is the point I was making. Obviously Harper isn't anywhere, and probably will never be, at the level Pujols is at but it doesn't make it okay for one player to mock the other team while the other becomes a douchebag for doing the same thing, no matter the level they play at.
