This, they need to void his contract. Keep in mind, the current wizards owner is the same guy who cut the ENTIRE Washington Capitals team a few years back when they went on strike. He then draft Ovechkin and hasn't looked back.


If they do cut Arenas, they should have enough cap room to go after some big name free agents. Maybe go after Chris Bosh, draft John Wall (praying the lottery works in our favor) and keep Butler and Jamison. Add in Randy Foye/Nick Young rotating at the SG and you have yourselves an amazing lineup
 
Depends how the NBA will classify the cut or voiding of Gilbert's contract. Cutting someone and an expiring contract means a lot of different money. Expirings allow you to add to your "cap space" while a cut will not.
 
There's a "good character" clause in every NBA contract which, if violated, allows the player's team to void his contract. Basically it makes it like an expiring IIRC

Thing is the players union will fight extremely hard for Gilbert. Voiding wont be easy even if there is a morality clause in the contract.

and i keep hearing all kinds of scenarios about Gil vs Critt that I dont know what to believe anymore. Im starting to think Critt should be suspended too but then again, no one cares about him. What has he done since being drafted? Nothing.

I wouldnt say kicked out of the league....thats a little too extreme considering no one knows all the facts and it all speculation right now. Hell, look at the NFL. Mike Vick kills dogs, Leonard Little, Ray Lewis, and Donte Stallworth killed someone, Plaxico shot himself and they didnt get banned. Sure thats the NFL but I think the NBA would look bad if they threw Gil and Critt out. I would be ok with them being suspended for the rest of the season WITHOUT pay for both guys and the Wiz being able to void their contracts in the offseason.
