Chip Kelly and his offense seems like it can plug in any athlete at Quarterback and make him look amazing. Can you run really fast? Check. Can you make a lot of short and intermediate throws? Check. Can you efficiently hand the ball off to a plethora of weapons? Check. Do not get me wrong, I love this offense and how they utilize their QB’s, but let’s be honest about one thing: this kid is not going to be an NFL QB, not even as a backup or tackling dummy. That being said, this is a list for college QB’s, and he probably fits his team’s offense as good as or better than any other QB in the country. The stats and record do not lie, the kid is a great leader, and he led this team to being a FG away from a National Title shot in his first year at the helm. However, the absence of THE GURU may or may not have an adverse effect on him, the offense, and the team as a whole. Based on that, I will err on the side of caution, but I will not be remotely surprised when, at the end of 2013, Oregon is 13-0/12-1, has one of the best offenses in the country, playing in the Pac12 title game, with this kid sitting in a chair in NYC waiting to (hopefully) hear his name called.
