I made a thread like this way back at MM I believe. My game would still be THe Getaway for PS2. That game was critically panned from what I remembered but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved seeing both sides of the story. I also think it was one of the first games I ever played with a regenerative health system and it was unique how they did it.

And seriously LOL at people like Nevermind mentioning Fable 2, which I believe has like a 85 on metacritic, and others mentioning NCAA. Really?

Looks like you were right. Which is probably why it has a 72 on metacritic. All the other reviews are low mid 60's to low 70's. But I guess I'm in the minority Game Informer camp. Funny, because I didn't even know GI existed back then.

ditto, I remember that short lived gaming magazine that came with EB games card, compared the game to Art and called it one of the best games of that year.

Tough to say here. Here are some xbox games that I did enjoy playing through that were borderline crap/decent.

Cabela's Big Game Hunter (2008)

Thats about the worst games I have played this generation. I cant remember SNES, PS2, PS1, NES days....so many games played and who knew they were bad or good. No reviews back then for the most part.

Dante's Inferno was solid game that got good reviews. It was just a GoW ripoff.

But same goes for Conan, although that game did not get good reviews. I loved it though. It was pretty damn long too. Rescuing the topless chicks tied to stakes was the best.:thumbsup:

I checked Giantbomb and they gave DI a 40/100.

Yeah I went through my entire games played on XBOX.com...mostly decent games.

Then you have to say uncharted is a ripoff because it's a 3rd person shooter with elements from tomb raider.

Uncharted is a rip off of a lot of things. I wouldn't stop at Tomb Raider. There is literally nothing original about Uncharted.

Yes, but you have things a little backward. DI completely ripped off GoW. No questions about it. The developers have even said as much. Every aspect of the game is straight from GoW. The combat. The magic system. Leveling up your character. Camera angles. Huge bosses.

Whereas I think Uncharted did borrow stuff from Tomb Raider, and many other games as Seth eluded to below.

I wouldn't say that. The characters and the cinematic experience is something that hasn't really been done in any other game. It;s the closes you can come to actually playing a Summer blockbuster movie.

True I suppose, as far as the cinematic experience part. Although I'd say the character part is pretty unoriginal. Either way, it's different from DI because Uncharted is great because it takes other shit and nearly perfects it, while DI was literally just a carbon copy of GoW.

Dynasty Warriors franchise has been knocked because they really don't add much year in and year out, yet they come out with new installments every 6 or 7 months. But as stupid as this game can be and how easy it may be, I still get addicted and can find myself losing hours playing this series.

I use to love this series. i played it up until the one where they took local co-op out. I haven't bought it since but would love to if they had it and online co-op. it's easy as hell but I think it's just something about fighting through hoards of enemies that are suppose to jump you but instead sit there and wait for you to kill them thats keeps people coming back.

Like a childhood fantasy of being able to beat up 100 people at one time..
