But I agree, if Bo played a full career then he would of been the best running back of all time.

But I'll tell you why.

Jim Brown lead the league in rushing 8 out of 9 seasons, and won a championship. Brown ran for 104 ypg, Sanders 99 yds per game.

Brown 5.2 rushing average, Sanders 5.0 career average.

Browns best year he had a 6.4 average, Sanders 6.1 average.

Brown only played in 12 and 14 game seasons, Sanders played in 16 game seasons, which is an important factor in my next stat.

Sanders best year was 2053 yds and 11 TDs in 16 games. 128.3 y/game.
Browns best year was 1863 yds, 12 TDs in 14 games. 133.1 y/game.

Brown scored 104 TD's in 9 seasons (4 of those years had just 12 games, and 5 with 14 games)
Sanders had 99 TD's in 10 seasons (16 games each of his pro seasons.)

Brown never missed a game.
Sanders missed 7 total games.

I can keep going on and on...

Brown >> Sanders.

You should take statistics when comparing completely different eras with a grain of salt. You can't compare the statistics of Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan because of how different the game was. Football is very similar

I agree when talking about straight head to head stats. However, when comparing what they did against their peers.

As far as who he played against, I won't penalize him for being physically ahead of his time. It happens. We don't downgrade Randy Moss for being 6 inches taller than most corners he faces or Shaq for outweighing most centers who try to guard him by 70+ pounds. It's part of what makes them great. Part of what makes Brown great is that he was a sheer physical specimen and an outstanding athlete who was nearly impossible to stop. And remember this: at 6'2" - 230 lbs, he's still a big back by today's standards and with what by most accounts is a 4.5 40 time, a fairly quick one as well.
