The only time I went DEEP into Franchise was with both of these games, Dreamcast didn't have the support though and it failed. Too bad, a decent system with decent graphics and great game play.

The PS2 is the best selling console at roughly 136million. Then the PS1 is there with 102million sold. The comes all the nintendo crap.

I picked PS3 because I think it's a remarkable technology beast.

But thinking back I would have to go with the PS2. So many amazing games. The NES would be a very close second though. The NES is basically what got me into hardcore gaming.

I have/had every single console since the NES (including the Jaguar and 3DO, CDi, and Neo Geo among others, most of which I still own), and as I said at first, when it works and doesn't break, which I'll fully admit it does often, the 360 is the best console ever. What it brought with Xbox Live and all the things that does making it the best online system around, the only thing it lacks is a huge number of exclusives, but the ones it does have are great.

If you want to talk purely a leap in technology over the prior gen then it has to be the PS1 or 360/PS3...that's not even debatable.

Shrug, maybe you guys think so fondly of these systems of the past because you haven't played them lately, whereas I still have most of them hooked up in my game room and play them on occasion. If I was going to vote for an older system it would be SNES, as I still have fun with that playing Super Punch-Out!!...lol.

How can anyone say SNES when the sports games on SNES were a f*cking joke compared to the Genesis versions?!

My guess is that most of you are choosing SNES over NES because the average age here is about 12.

and what if you didnt play sports games? i dont think anyones doubting the awesomeness of the NES but as a whole the SNES had a larger and better library of games IMO

If one had to go, would've chucked the SNES

If you're an RPG guy, then SNES > the Gen I guess
Action/Sports however, Genesis owned the SNES.
