I agree, but I don't see them just dropping the BCS. They've invested too much time, money and effort into it. I could live with a playoff coming from a BCS system.

If Oregon beat STanford head to head why are they ranked a spot behind Stanford for losing to the #1 team in the country?

It also has VT ranked ahead of Clemson, even though Clemson has trounced them twice! It also has Boise way ahead of TCU, even though they lost to TCU at home. Polling is a joke.

If someone believes Alabama is the 2nd best team in the country why does it mean they're a Lemming? At this point I see LSU as the best team in the country, and I saw Alabama take them to overtime and I haven't seen either Alabama or LSU tested since.

What reason do I have to believe Okle St is the second best team? Okay, they beat a Ryan Broyles-less OU team in the conference championship? Oregon lost to USC and Stanford lost to Oregon. None of these teams pushed the #1 team in the country to overtime and lost by a FG. If Okie St. beats Iowa St then this wouldn't even be a a discussion.

Okie States’ winning margin has nothing to do with what happens in the Alabama/LSU game…..unless you believe LSU = Stanford. I don’t understand why people say this. These games are exclusive of each other. That argument is lame.

When Alabama lost to LSU Okie St. had their chance. They were #2 and lost to Iowa St. At this point both Alabama and Okie St have one loss. Bama lost to #1 LSU in overtime and Okie St. lost to Iowa St. It has less to do with Okie St. having to be undeafeted, and more to do with when they loss. Anyone with a brain understands you can't lose late in the season and if you do then you need a lot of help to get back into the championship game picture (ie. Alabama).

I’m not defending polling, because it is stupid; however, this is the system so we have to work within it’s nuances. The poll system is a huge part of college football and that is just the way it is and always has been. College football due to the polls has always had a suspect National Champion.

I believe all the computer polls still factor in SOS, but only a few of them still factor in margin of victory. Those polls are the ones who had Bama listed above OSU.

This current system rewards teams for playing shitty OOC schedules. Bama is case in point.

They are piggybacking off of the tough schedule LSU played. Since LSU is clearly the best team, having proven it against the best teams from three different conferences and three different time zones, and Alabama was the closest to not losing to LSU, then clearly Alabama is the second best team.

Never mind that Alabama's other games included 8 opponents with .500 or worse records.
