Another example of this system (or any system we could devise) rewarding teams for unambitious OOC scheduling:

If this were a 4-team playoff, Stanford would be in and Oregon would not. The difference? Oregon played a top 5 team out of conference and lost.

And this is why polling is retarded. Are we honestly to believe that if a football goes 6 more inches to the inside of the goal post at the end of regulation in Ames that all of a sudden Okie St is clearly the 2nd best team in the country? Okie St lost on the road in overtime by literally inches.

And thats also how close Alabama lost to LSU, the undisputed #1.

If Okie State is deserving of #2, their game vs Iowa State shouldnt have came down to inches.

I can see both sides of the argument, its not all one-sided like everyone here believes.

No it's not.

Alabama's kickers were no where close on pretty much all of their attempts.

Including the knuckling shit in OT.

Okie St's FG attempt at the end of OT went literally right over the post.

LOL at this, Alabama missed three field goals from beyond 45 yards. They had three snaps inside the red zone all game. LOL at comparing a missed chip shot by Okie State (literally inches wide) to the Bama possessions which ended nowhere near the end zone and with hopeless FG attempts falling three or four entire feet under the cross bar.

But that is also really stupid criteria with which to use. WHO CAME CLOSER TO NOT LOSING?!?! DURR.

LOL @ analyzing the accuracy & distance of the field goals and thinking that was my point. I simply meant that both games were decided by a FG, which means a single play in either game could've changed the outcome.
