Buccaneers to Hire GREG SCHIANO

Juggernaut is too young to remember just how awful Rutgers was pre-Schiano. I think I'm only a year older than him so I probably shouldn't talk but I can still slightly remember Miami consistently beating them by scores like 62-3 every year. Nobody was a Rutgers fan unless you lived in the Piscataway/New Brunswick area and went to the games for practically no cost until about 2005.

schiano brought rutgers from a laughing stock to a middle of the pack team at best. nothing more, nothing less.

You're not gonna win a lot of games when you're giving up 40 or more points every outing. He's a defensive coach and he led one of the worst defenses in recent memory. They were downright awful. It's hilarious to hear how Schiano will be worse. I'd be preparing for an 0-16 season if that's the case.

I think Schiano is a good hire and will surprise a lot of you.

A lot of people are critical of this hire, which I find amusing. Considering that the last guy we hired was a DBs coach for two years and a DC, at the college level, for one year, before basically being run-off and coming back to the Bucs as a DB coach. Very little experience and a resume which did not exhibit the skill-set you want in a Head Coach.

I believe Schiano will be a good hire. He has the resume, the experience and he has the ability to appropriately delegate authority and manage other aspects of the team. If you watch his press-conference, it is hard not to come away impressed. There are a lot of people that can say the right things, but, can not put them into action. In his answers, he didn't just say the right things, he gave examples of how it would happen and displayed an understanding of how to build a program/franchise.

If you want to criticize the guy, you should at least watch these and then decide:

I actually like the hire. Hearing Butch Davis could come on as DC

I mentioned that I was hearing Butch Davis as a possible DC back on the 26th. Now it is making the rounds since Peter King is now reporting it...4days after me.

More names that are very possible as position coaches: Mark Weiss, Dave Campo and Randy Shannon.

Mainly I am just posting this to antagonize LiquidLarry since, according to him, my posts are "crap."

BTW Larry...all this from the same source...guess they are not so bad now...

Thinking Schiano is a bad hire and thinking Raheem Morris was a terrible coach are not mutually exclusive. Chances are, they will continue to suck.
