Negative. Just got back from Buffalo Wild Wings a little while ago and I'm going to head to bed soon since I got a rough day (at least by my schedule) tomorrow.

I'll try to get an update tomorrow though, even though I have a presentation to work on and an essay.

"And where is this lucky lady now?" I asked Melyssa's uncle, wondering why she wasn't here supporting her husband.

"That lucky lady wa...was my wife," he replied with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"Was?" I pondered out loud, not knowing the consequences of what that word actually brought up.

It looked like he was going to cry as he explained. "Ye...yeah. She was pregnant with my child and..." Then he stopped. The pain was too unbearable.

Focus, focus, focus. Surely this couldn't happen to me. Surely this couldn't happen to Melyssa. Relax, relax - it'll be alright.

I got into my car, without any thought of what the consequences might be from leaving the game early and hurried off towards the hospital. By the time I pulled into the parking lot, I jumped out and ran towards the hospital's doors.

"Sir, is there an emergency?" A young lady at the front desk asked. She could tell from my facial expression that I was worried. And I was; I mean the conversation with Melyssa's uncle was still lingering in my mind. I made the assumption that his wife passed away after delivering their only child and I was trembling at the thought that Melyssa might suffer the same fate.

"Yeah," I replied in a half-excited, half-frightened voice. "Could you tell me where Melyssa Washington's room is? She's my fiance and having our first child. I personally would like to be there for the experience."

"Sure thing," she answered, "it's 456." Then she stopped me. "Say, you look familiar." I didn't want to stand there long but she also looked vaguely familiar and I was sort of intrigued to find out who she was...but not at this time.

"Yeah, I'm Ethan Woy," I revealed. Her eyebrow perked up at the sound of that, but I needed to get going. "I'll give you an autograph later," I sarcastically said as I headed towards the elevator. She smiled and motioned me to leave.

"Push!" The doctor commanded as Melyssa was wincing in pain. The new born life was almost into this world, but just needed a bit more effort from the teenager.

"I'm trying!" Melyssa helplessly screamed. This was really taking a toll on her and she was second-guessing her decision to get pregnant. If it was going to take this much effort and hurt this much, why not just adopt?

Then with a loud screech in his voice, the doctor screamed. "Oh my God!"

"Room 452, room 453," I muttered while running down the hall. "Room 454, room 455." I was getting closer and closer, which put more and more worried thoughts into my mind. Was the baby going to be healthy? Was Melyssa going to be fine? Would I make it in time?

"Room 456!" I exclaimed as I excitingly opened the door...

"He's beautiful!" The doctor held up the new life in his hands as soon as I burst through the door. Then he looked over to see an exhausted me and said. "Just in time Mr. Woy. Here's your new son."

I smiled and wiped my forehead. "Please, let Melyssa hold him first," I responded. "She's the one that's gone through the most trouble with the whole process. I can wait just a little while longer."

"No problem," the doctor replied. "Let me cut the umbilical cord first."

After getting all of that stuff done, the child was placed in a spent Melyssa's arms. "Wow, this is incredible," she said with a huge smile on her face. "I'm glad you're here Ethan. But wait, what about your game?"

What about my game? I didn't know what the fallout would be for leaving early would be. "Don't worry about it hun," I replied. "Are you feeling alright? I was worried sick."

"Yeah I'm fine," she whispered. The whisper was brought on from all the emotional and physical stress she had just endured. "Here, you can hold our son for a bit."

As I gently grasped the baby from Melyssa's arms, the doctor spoke up. "So have you two thought of a name yet?" We looked at each other and smiled. We were young and stupid, we knew we weren't going to have a name ready by the time this time had come.

Melyssa looked at me and nodded her head, signaling that I could have the call on his name. "Sean Joseph Woy," I announced, looking into my son's eyes. "That's what your name is. You'll have a loving and supporting family and I will do anything to make you and your mother happy." Then I wiped a tear from my eyes as I got what I think was a smile from little Sean. No football game or basketball game could ever top this moment...the world was in my arms.

Releasing Skeletons

As the new family was four floors above with smiles on their faces, the receptionist was staring at the clock in front of her. Anxiously waiting for the minute hand to strike 12, she pulled out her phone and scrolled down to the B's.

"Bradley...Brent," she continued scrolling through her contacts with one eye on her phone and the other on the clock. Finally reaching her intended target, she breathed a sigh of relief as work was finally over. She stood up to clock out while she sent a text message to her cousin. "howd the game go?"

She took a glance at the surrondings around her as she stepped foot outside. The sun was setting, the January snow was melting - it was just another day in the life of a single woman at Syracuse. Reaching for her keys, she pulled out her phone to see that her cousin replied. "we won 75-65. really sloppy game."

"A win's a win, I guess," she thought and then started to text her back. "at least we won i guess. howd woy do?" She, like most of the campus of Syracuse, had caught onto Woy mania and adopted him as her favorite player.

Quickly she received a reply that shocked her. "fouled out...didnt see him in the arena 4 the last few minutes of the game." Fouling out is understandable, but leaving the arena in the middle of the game? What was going on that he had to leave? She went to reply then received another text. "i got a pic of him going back to the locker room early tho."

Then it hit her. What time did Ethan come into the hospital? There's no way he could have made it in time without leaving the game early. She quickly messaged back, revealing an answer her cousin has been looking for a while. "he came into work. said his girl was having their baby finally."

Britt smiled and replied. "perfect. thats exactly what i need for my story." Over the last few months, Britt and Ethan's connection broke off and it got to the point that he would stop showing up for their scheduled tutoring sessions. She couldn't figure it out; why would he still want to be with Melyssa when she was the one that saved his life? Does she even know about the attempted suicide?

She's guilty; she knew she was jealous of Melyssa. From the first time she laid eyes on Ethan, she wanted to find out more - more about his personality, his experiences, his life in general. She thought that they would be the great together and she went out of her way to make sure he was alright. The party that first week, the conversation in the hospital, the tutoring sessions - what was it that could get him to fall into her lap?

Her older cousin Candace texted her back three minutes later. " glad i could help out." With the information on the table - both from Candace and her experiences with the superstar, she had to ask herself this: would it be worth it to risk not only his happiness, but an engaged couple's happiness with the revelation of the skeltons hiding in his closet? Or should she just report the information given to her and not think twice about it? What to do, what to do?

She took a deep breath and started typing away, knowing the aftermath of what she was about to reveal.

And I'm sorry to disappoint. Had a bad headache through most of the day, so I wasn't going to try to update with it.

Stunned

Out of the hospital, Melyssa and I started to realize the stress of having a child at home - kind of like a reminder of what everyone told us when we broke the news. Gone were the days of sleeping in until 10 and in were the random alarms from one to six in the morning.

A few days before our next game against Marquette, I was trying to get some sleep when Sean Joseph started to cry in the next room of Melyssa's apartment. We both woke up and looked at each other.

"I'll see what's wrong," she sighed as she got out of bed and walked over to his crib. As she stood up, I looked over to see what time it was. Seeing it was 7:30 and realizing that I wouldn't get any more sleep if I tried, I slowly got myself out of bed.

"Let's see what the campus headlines are today," I thought to myself as I went outside to get the paper. The Daily Orange was delivered to all the off-campus apartments within a certain mile radius of the campus and Melyssa's apartment qualified. Dropping the paper on the front counter, I walked back to the bedroom to get my phone.

"You alright Ethan?" Melyssa asked from the other room with little Sean Joseph in her arms. She didn't seem as tired as I thought she would be, which was surprising considering that I didn't help out a lot with the parenting duties. I really want to help out more, but with basketball in-season, it took too much out of me to help out with the simplest things.

Looking through my missed alerts, I noticed a new voice-mail. "Yeah," I answered Melyssa as I started to listen to the message. "I just went out to get the paper, that's all." As I listened to a familiar voice on the other end, I sat down at the table and opened the paper up to the sports section. Shocked to say the least, I wasn't expecting at all what I was about to read...

...

"I hate these early morning classes," Britt muttered to herself as she walked out of her apartment. Seriously, who really likes getting up in the morning for these classes? It was just bad luck that the one elective she had to take this semester only had an opening at eight in the morning.

Right before she got to the classroom, she picked up the paper to see if her article was in there. Sure enough, once she sat down and opened the paper to the sports section, she saw her name in bold lettering. The title of the article spoke volumes: CATCHING CONTROVERSY. She thought it would make a nice play on words, considering he was also a star receiver on the football team and the article dealt more about his troubling past.

However, as she read through the article, she started to wonder if this was really the right decision. Did she just ruin any sort of relationship she had with Ethan? Or wasn't there one anymore with Melyssa and the baby in the picture? It was hard to tell...

...

"What the hell is up with this?" I angrily responded to the black print that was bringing up times I was desperately trying to forget. I never gave a reason why I left the Seton Hall game early, and according to the caption under my picture, it seemed like Britt figured it out somehow. I was stunned that she would take shots at me like this. What did I do wrong?

Then I caught the tail end of my voice-mail and recognized who called. "Be in my office at two today. We need to discuss some things."
