The negative reaction to this trade is stunning. Reds fans are really the worst.

This is one of the easiest, no brainer, slam dunk, no doubt about it trades you will ever see. There is no reasonable argument to NOT make this trade.

Yeah, if any team's fanbase should be pissed, it's Arizona. They seemed intent on getting an elite difference-maker at SS and are settling for a guy with no consensus that he can even be an everyday player.

Exactly, they are explicitly asking for Gregorius instead of Cabrera, when the book on Gregorius is that he's an exceptional defender with absolutely zero pop in his bat, who has struggled to get on base throughout the minors. He's a nice player, but I have no idea why they are in love with him to the extent that they are.

7:50pm: The deal sending Shin-Soo Choo to the Reds has been completed, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (via Twitter). The Reds will also receive Jason Donald in the trade, Heyman confirms (via Twitter).

The three-team deal that was being worked on had Shin-Soo Choo and Jason Donald going to the Reds, Didi Gregorius to the Diamondbacks, and Drew Stubbs plus an Arizona pitcher going to the Indians, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter). Patrick Corbin or Trevor Bauer will likely be the Arizona pitcher going to Cleveland, Rosenthal tweets.

Let's clear up the mess.

Reds get: Shin-Soo Choo, Jason Donald, cash

Indians get: Drew Stubbs, Trevor Bauer, Matt Albers, Bryan Shaw

D'Backs get: Didi Gregorius, Tony Sipp, and the much traveled 10-year prospect LARS ANDERSON

Cliffs: Reds get much desired leadoff hitter/stop gap for Billy Hamilton. Choo is 99.9% certain to be a one year rental. Indians get three former 1st round picks for Choo, who they were never going to be able to re sign, D'Backs get black LOOGY guy, LARS ANDERSON who has been traded 19 times and has been a prospect since 1988, and a SS that they seem to be higher on than any other team in the league.

Not under the new CBA, unless they offer a qualifying offer, which they won't because the plan is to call up Hamilton by then, and they can't afford Choo anyway.

If they make a qualifying offer and he declines it, then yes. If they don't offer him anything, then no.

This is one of the dumbest trades I've seen in awhile(48 hours).

No clue why the Dbacks did this. If the Reds wouldn't budge on Didi without a 3rd team then just snag another of the dozens of glove only shortstops buried on some other teams farm system.

I love that the Dbacks are going out of their way to make themselves a worse basbeball team. I was hoping they'd give up Upton for Asdrubal Cabrera, but I guess that's not going to happen now.

And yeah, I know that when Bauer was at UCLA he always kinda did his own thing. I think his dad is the only person who can coach him. He doesn't listen to anyone. Or something like that. He also has weird philosophies on pitching, like he thinks it's better to pitch higher in the strike zone than than it is to keep everything down.
