That it is a celebration of his career and the person that he has become. As I said before, he could have acknowledged an abusive father and growing up in a difficult neighborhood. There is nothing wrong with that. My issue was with the detail that he provided in the speech. I didn't think it was the appropriate forum in my opinion. You don't have to agree with it. It is my opinion and mine alone. I think that his speech would have been better suited for the rookie symposium, speaking to at-risk youth, etc. I look at Michael Irvin's HOF speech in which he noted his issues as a player and not being proud of some of the things he did. However, he didn't go into great detail about the things that he did. IMVHO it was not the appropriate forum and would have been better suited for another group.
