Defense is broken this year?

I've been reading a lot of posts on other websites saying that the defense is str8 BS this year. I really havnt noticed a big difference until i started reading these threads, but yea i noticed a lot of players putting up crazy passing yards.......not just you QS.... Is this a Ap vs Am Thing?

Have you guys had any problems ?

The only thing I have an issue with is the damn broken tackles. That's the only thing that stood out to me.

I'm having a hard time stopping the pass. I think it something I will figure out though. I'm still playing around with my defense right now.

yeah, blown coverages seem to trigger every so often and broken tackles even on AM are through the roof.

Me and GuatHeat played a game yesterday that looked like a track meet. I had 3 40 yard plus gainers and he had a few along with a 5 or 6 broken tackle run for a TD. It was a very enjoyable game though except for me missing 3 XP's :laugh:

It's not "broken" as some like to put it. It's just becoming very evident that the design has been heavily focused on the offense.

people complain about superman LBs and now how the defense is broken. Which one is it?

I am having a hell of a time with the Pats on defense. I can't get a pass rush going and seem to get picked apart every play.

i haven't seen any superman LB shit so far on AM. I know others have, but it seems toned down to be less frequent.

I just want tackles to be made as they should. Tired of seeing Ray Rice bounce off legit MLB's.

I'm too old to play on-line, so it's against the CPU. One of the things I like is that Drives actually take time off the clock. Not seeing to many 2-3 minute 80 yard drives.

Haven't had the game since they stopped making it for the PC. I'm impressed with what I've seen so far. Maybe the right sliders will make it even more realistic.

The first tackle pretty much means nothing, i can't stop the run, they always seem to get 5 yards or more no matter what.

if anything....AP is brutal compared to AM.....

see for yourselves.....play some random ranked game against the Bengals and watch them heave up Bombs to TO and Ocho on Streaks all game......
MFers will throw for 300+ yards in the 1st qtr............

its all good tho - i played more games in 3 days than i have in 2 years.......
i really think this is the best version by far...........graphics; features and smooth play......

anyway;
i still say AM > AP ------- always did

Dude even AM is ridiculous, last night me and Hass played a game that was just fucking insane, he slants with Roddy White, who spins out of a 2 man tackle with a safety right there and burns everybody for a TD, then I turn around with Jimmy clausen chuck the ball up and run under it open with Steve Smith, then Hass does the same thing to me basically the rest of the game lol I find myself havign to be conservative now on defense.

maybe its becoming realistic where players (like in the NFL) can ill-afford to make mistakes?? teams will capitalize on others mistakes......
i.e - being too agressive or being too conservative.....not throwing into double coverage or heaving up a prayer.....trying to do too much with the run and fumbling......

i dont have most of the answers but i know i wont go "backwards" and play AP. its always been a debate as far as i could remember = AM vs. AP

sidenote: i have seen crazy stuff on AP and AM......i dont think it really it matters what setting we play on......

IMO the lag play online really make it hard for me to do anything on defense. If I click on a defender on a long ball I will be out off position to make a play, whereas the cpu will just be burnt. everything else is pretty much satisfactory just deep ball coverage.....

Sliders save this game offline, but for the online guys ... yes, the D is broken.
Thank God I've reverted to mostly being an offline player.

Ive had games where it was a struggle and games where it was a shootout. I played my buddy last night Saints (him) vs Vikings (Me) on All Madden and Drew Brees tore shit up in the air while I rushed for over 280 yards. 20 attempts, 240 yards and 5 TDs for AP. Final score was 49-35 me. You have to guess correctly on every play or you will get burned.

On the flipside our game before that I won 17-10 Cowboys (Him) vs Bucs where neither one of us could move the ball.

I've played 2 play now ranked games. Both times it's been my 49ers vs Adrian Peterson. The second game was such bullshit. I'm not the greatest by any means, but I can hold my own for sure. Favre was 0-4 with 2 picks and peterson had over 30 carries for over 500 yds!! Pretty sad how he broke through tackle after tackle. Is there a blog or thread somewhere stating what is going to be in the first patch stated by an EA rep?
