Back on topic though, my favorite animated Batman film is definitely Mask of the Phantasm, and I'd even put it as the 3rd best Batman movie. Although I have yet to see a few, mainly Gotham Knight.

I have the DVD and watched the default version. I'm guessing that one is edited since it was for sale and expected to be purchased by kids.

Yep if you saw the default version than yep it shouldn't even be ranked, that's how bad it was IMHO. The director's cut is the one you need to watch, you might re rank the whole thing. Back when the movie came out, Columbine had just went down and the studios were under massive pressure to reduce school violence in their productions.

God those two kids piss me off. Selfish pricks.

Don't agree with TDKR being 7, I would have it atleast in the Top 5.

I'd argue that Joker planned very meticulously in TDK. The hospital bomb? The bank job? The boats? All of that HAD to be planned meticulously. I think they nailed the Joker in the sense that he is basically organized chaos.

While it’s not the strangest or most experimental and certainly not the darkest, this is the most unique entry into the canon. While there is humor to be found throughout the franchise, this is the only all-out comedy. It’s also one that most serious Batman fans loathe. They blame it for ruining the character’s image, and of comic books in general, for decades. For that reason and its incorrect labeling as stupid kid stuff will lead many of you to shun me ranking it this high. Even I felt that way once upon a time. Revisiting it with more mature eyes so many years later, I see it for what it was intended to be: a brilliant spoof of popular serials of the 1940s and of Batman himself. It is also chock full of double entendre, slyly slipping lots of dirty talk past the censors of the day. It is a spoof of the highest order, not made to be taken seriously. It makes Batman the one thing he rarely gets to be: fun.

Someone using the name Red Hood, one of the Joker’s old aliases, has taken over the Gotham drug trade. However, the Joker is locked away in Arkham Asylum, having killed Robin, the Jason Todd version, five years earlier. There is also a whole host of other things going on involving Ra’s al Ghul, Black Mask and the Riddler. Luckily, former Robin Dick Grayson, now called Nightwing is around to help out his old pal. He also gets under Batsy’s skin noting that if he had the same issues then the Joker would be dead by now. In all, it’s a marvelous mystery and character study that rises above its medium. Best of all, it delves into The Bat’s psyche without recounting his origin story (yet again). It all adds up to an amazing Batman tale. In short, I think this is the best of all the Caped Crusader’s animated features.

I enjoyed this movie and the early Batman TV show. I watched it as a kid, too, but so much of the humor is in the dialogue and wordplay so you have to be older to understand it.

By being "rated" at all, Requiem for a Dream is the runaway winner of this title.

Sad to say that I owned a VHS copy of Batman & Robin and enjoyed watching it multiple times when I was 6-7 years old.

This, but with Batman Forever instead. My aunt worked as a producer on it, so I was heavily into it. Had the movie poster in my room, watched the VHS a million times and memorized all the lines. Boy, did I think that movie was AWESOME...

To be completely honest the Schumacher Batman movies are some of my favorite awful movies to watch still. They don't take themselves seriously in any way and its almost impossible to find campier movies made after the 80's.

Batman & Robin came on TNT a few months ago and I actually watched the whole thing. Constant facepalms throughout the entire thing. Loved it as a kid though :yep:

Even if your just counting movies I still think of batman with kevin conroys voice he just had that angry, but still calm voice that you would imagine batman with. I think bales wayne was better, but his batman voice just never clicked with me.
