checking around and this game got 80-90 from almost everyone (25 reviews)

but the theme is that the game is very very hard....hard is ok as long as its not frustratingly hard

I have read that if you can make it through the beginning of the game you can chug through the rest. They online is crazy as far as coop and seeing how other players died.

game looks awesome the most motivating thing for me to buy it is my girlfriend. She loves diablo and still plays it all the time. This game has been compared to that in my reading today....several times

gonna log things for a bit...

1.5 hours played.

the 'tutorial' wasn't too hard for me. I have a knack (and love) for these games and this one looks so damn fun and challenging. took me about 30 mins to really start to get a hang of combat, but even basic battle you need to take care. once you get used to tearing up the easy guys, you still will take hits if you aren't careful enough.

you got 2 pieces of equipment in each hand (currently have sheild/sword and axe/bow) and you have an item linked to square (healing herbs pretty much). flicking between items is mapped to the dpad, very easy to switch between ranged/sword once you get the hang of it.

anyways...

started seeing "ghosts" of other players randomly running around, haven't communicated with anyone. you'll see plenty of bloodstains to watch deaths (you watch their ghost run around and die, but nothing else. so really you watch out for ambushes (and there are so many) or traps (ditto) and such. also messages everywhere which people can leave (easily, there's set messages and you just pick the words you want...very nice)


so i journey into the first world i guess....nice cut scene to start...

it's this huge castle. i smash through easy zombies for a while, racking up close to 1000 souls (basic zombie guys give like 6 and 8 if you kill em the right way . you get more from tougher guys it seems)

I'm thinkin this game isn't THAT hard cause i've only had just one close call with death and am doin alright. then I get into fighting zombies with flaming swords, not so much harder to deal with. find this lever which opens a door back to near the start so I headed back the way I came.

come across this bigger knight that looks like it's a blue ghost. tough guy...but I got him. he healed himself too that fucker. these monsters aren't retarded. if you hold block they won't just bash at your sheild like idiots, they'll find a way around that shit. no fucking around here.

anyways...

I come across a similar knight to the blue one, this one is red. red must mean GTFO.

I see him from a distance, hit him for 40 with a headshot, looks like he's got about 500 health (which isn't so scary). mfer starts charging with his sheild up so I bust out mine and prepare to duel.

cept he fuckin skewered me right off the bat. boom. my first death.


back to the start I go, all enemies alive and all my souls....gone. so that's what kind of game this is eh? cool with me, bring it the fuck on.

i start marching my way in and notice that door I opened is ...still open. sweet. shortcut!

oh hey mr blue knight. wait...wait a fucking minute. when the fuck did you get so tough. yeah he made quick work of my over aggressiveness and fucked me right up. death again.

here we go again.

dispatch the blue knight, recover my souls from that 2nd death. decided to investigate my 1st death and mr red knight.

my original souls gone. FML. mr red knight...lets try this again.


lol no. death.


so back to recover those souls and find somewhere else to adventure. lol


personally I think this game is fucking spectacular and I'd love someone else to run around with. can't wait to see what's in store...provided I get that far. lol

for me to mash through those zombies (actually called dredglings or some shit), use the shortcut I made and return to where I was dying? 5 minutes?

when you get your souls back, you also get a few more for the zombies you just mashed through.

it really isn't bad at all.



tried to lure the red knight to make him chase me and fall down this tower. didn't work (tho i think it can) and he made me his bitch.

headed somewhere else now.. :thumbsup:

That'[s what I hear. Although this game sounds awesome I don't have the patience for shit like that. That's the main reason why I never tried to egt into the Ninja Gaiden games.

They online is crazy as far as coop and seeing how other players died.

That's the thing that has me most intrigued. I've read that other players can leave notes, messages and tips 'in-game' to help you solve puzzles and defeat enemies. That sounds fucking bad ass.

i understand this but just want to be sure on something.

u have 1000 souls, you die.....you go somwhere else totally different and away from the area where the 1000 souls were lost....you die again....

do u lose the 1000 no matter when or where you go after...meaning the very next time you die is what matters regardless if you even went back for the 1000?


btw, i picked up the game....my GF loved the videos i showed her. But im gonna screw around tonight. If you and jms wanna run together tomorrow let me know
