Mark Clayton has hands like Mason, if not better. He just never had the route running skillz Mason had. Watch some Ravens games. It won't be that bad. We went to the playoffs with Travis Taylor at Wide Receiver...

Lol that isnt saying much. I love clayton and all, top 5 route runner in the league, but he barely caught the ball with his hands. He was on the level of hines ward...body caught everything. And when you guys went to the playoffs with taylor, you had a crazy defense. Without Ryan that defense wont be as dominant.

I'm just having a hard time believing Derrick Mason was the key to a great season for Baltimore. When we run the ball 56% of the time, most in the NFL.

Rethink this seriously. Derrick mason was the go to guy offensively. He moved the chains for you guys just about everytime. He was reliable as he ran sold routes...he was always where the rookie qb wanted him to be. Without mason, you guys will have a hard time getting 1st down if someone doesnt step up.

I don't disagree Clayton has good hands but he's not fast and he doesn't run excellent routes nor have the veteran savvy that Mason had. Nor has he shown a willingness to play through injury like Mason. Not to mention, if Clayton gets hurt, we have absolutely nothing. Injury prone Williams and a bunch of has beens and never was.

Regarding Mason, definitely one of the more underrated players of the decade. I'll never forget the TD catch he made vs. Dallas last year in a game we needed to make the playoffs. Dragging one arm because he couldn't move it and still making the grab.

Hes fast imo. Hell...his two best years in the nfl. The fist year mcnair came there...he was nothing more than a deep threat. And imo...hes runs good routes. Not excellent routes, but better than the majority of the wideouts in the league. Either way Its hard seeing him as a number 1.

He was my favorite receiver when he was in Nashville. Like others have said its good to see him go out on his terms like McNair & Wycheck before him.

Mason was my favorite Titans WR and it hurt seeing leave to the Ravens. Sucks to see him go but I still wish it ended in Tennessee.

Both of these guys arent the same.

Harrison is washed up. He lost his quickness, therefore he lost his game. Route running and is quickness scared dbs. Now that he lost run, the other isnt the same, and dbs will press his tiny ass all day. If harrison couldnt succeed in an offense where TIMING is everything....and manning is the qb, I dont know if he would do so in any other offense. Basically on the colts, he ran alot of slants, comebacks, and digs. Timing routes. I dont see him doing good anywhere else. His career is over.

Heap on the other hand..I dont know whats going on with him..but hopefully he will rebound.

Yes, Mason may not have been an elite WR, but he got the job done and this loss hurts. Someone needs to talk him into one more season.....

But still better than most of the receivers they have. He could also be a mentor for them.
