I completely disagree... The League's Most Valuable Player should go to clearly the best player. LeBron having superior teammates is irrelevant IMO. That is no knock on Rose, because he is legitimately great, but LeBron is on a whole different level.
One thing I hate though, that I've seen a lot of this season is how Derrick Rose has pretty much been given the sole responsibility of the Bulls success. I'm aware that Boozer and Noah have both been out, and have rarely played at the same time, but the amount of time Rose had to play with neither of them was short lived, so it's not like he was all alone. Deng has been consistent as usual, and still is a good player.
But the one thing people seem to completely overlook when it comes to the Bull's success is Tom Thibodeau. I feel like he has more to do with the improvement of the Bulls than Rose's increased scoring. Last season, the Bulls were a middle of the pack defensive team, and this season, their probably one of the top 3 defensive teams in the league.
So is Rose scoring 4 points more a game than last season to do with the Bulls being a much better team than they were? Or is having to score 8 less points a game on average than they did last season more to do with it? Yeah, I know, Rose is one of the players playing defense too, but Thibodeau has brought his team defense mindset from the Celtics to the Bulls, and I think that has the most to do with it.
