Did Favre hust his legacy with his three comebacks?

He had some great defenses, he had a great O-Line with the Packer All Time Leading Rusher. It wasn't just Edgar Bennett he was handing off too. He had some good WR's and TE's.

Please, don't act like he didn't have any talent around him.

I never said he didn't have talent.

I said the offense wasn't stacked.

I don't care where they rank in Packers lore or all time statistically. Levens, Bennett, Brooks, Freeman, Chumura is not a "stacked" offense. Especially in relative terms to other teams in the NFL.

He's a sure first ballot HOF'er and top 15 QB of all time. He was arguably the greatest regular season QB of all time. But he was just about average in the playoffs. I think a lot of this had to do with his gunslinger style of play. In the regular season you could have those games where you throw that "what the f" game ending int and still have a great regular season. But that doesn't translate as well in the playoffs where one loss and you are done.

Don't take this the wrong way bucky but you probably have higher moral standards than the most people, I don't think your average person could care less about Farve's off-field transgressions.

I'm not sure how anyone can deny the bold. None of these things were issues pre-first retirement. He is a walking punchline, it's actually kind of sad, this was never the case before he came back a million times.

Nobody is questioning his status as an all time great.

None of those guys played during his MVP seasons or his "prime". By the time those guys showed up Favre's legacy as an all-time great was already cemented.

Favre was never surrounded by trash, he had smoe decent skill players around him, but he did make stars out of some WR's that probably wouldnt have had similar success in other places. There was a stretch in the 90's where the Packers seemingly had a new 1,000 yard WR every season...from Sharpe, Brooks, Schroeder, Freeman, Walker, Driver....Brooks, Schroeder, and Walker were definately products of Favre. He could throw to anybody.

Tell that to the teams they beat the year they won the Super bowl and went to play in the next year. all players are great for a moment in time. Some moments last longer. So what if they werent SF or Dallas collectively for a period of time. They beat them wich makes them great for one year and thats all you need to be.

Not all players are "great" some never reach that level.

Some moments last longer. So what if they werent SF or Dallas collectively for a period of time. They beat them wich makes them great for one year and thats all you need to be.

A team being "great" doesn't make every individual on the team great, especially relative terms to the other players in the league at the time.

Agree about Walker, but it's hard to argue it considering he was never productive outside of having Favre. Never know what he would have done had he not injured his knee.

Brooks had one really good season. One good season then a bunch of undistinguished ones. He was "a guy". Freeman was a better WR than Brooks...and neither were anything special.
