Did Green Bay get jobbed?

Wow. Thats about as insightful as Rasheed Wallace saying "Both teams played hard".

Unfortunately, I left my "penalties missed" graph sheet at home otherwise I'd break down each and every missed call on both sides of the ball for each team for you.

The missed calls go both ways, everyone knows this. Whining about missed calls and acting like one team got away with way more penalties is a waste of oxygen because it's literally impossible to prove.

I remember Fitzgerald pushing Woodson down on one of his TD catches. I remember Fitzgerald pushing Woodson down again on his other TD catch, and on the same play I remember Lutui tackling Kris Jenkins into Kurt Warner which somehow resulted in a personal foul on Jenkins for hitting Warner in the head. This was ironic, because on 2 of the final 3 plays of the game Aaron Rodgers got hit in the head and no flags were thrown. The only bad call I remember going against Arizona was a phantom PI called on Michael Adams for guarding Greg Jennings.

The major bad call that stuck in my mind for the Cardinals was the phantom horse collar on Ryan Grant that gave the Packers a critical first down. The Cardinals defender did have his hand on the top of the shoulder pads but never exerted any backwards pressure on Grant, which is supposed to be the big thing in the "Roy Williams" rule. The one on Aaron Rodgers was borderline but did result in him being tugged backwards a little so it met the requirements of the penalty. There were a few blatant holding calls missed but that seemed to be pretty consistent on both sides of the ball.

Lets not forget that the Cards missed the game winning FG at the end of the 4th. If that happened then we wouldnt be having this convo. Packers did it to themselves, they were given another opportunity.

I saw Darnell Docket, and other Cardinal DL, held a number of times. Definitely got held on Spencer Havner's TD (at 7:40) and definitely got held at 3:56 of the link I provided on Finley's 45 yard catch and run that took the Packers to the Cards 1 yard line.

Saw a Packers player (#50-something, played DEnd on the play) get away with clipping on the fumble return after Fitz was stripped by Woodson and recovered by Matthews that would have nullified the 40 yard fumble return.

Saw the CB get away with PI on Breaston's 1 arm catch down the sidelne.

Add these to the Ryan Grant horse collar, the phantom PI on Mike Adams.

This was all seen in the 10 min highlight video. If I went through the entire game this list would probably be 5 times longer.

Like I said, this shit goes both ways.

The Packers offense didn't do anything to help their team out until almost halftime. If Woodson had not stripped Fitzgerald of that ball inside the redzone, it likely would have been 24-0 instead of 17-7 and I don't know that the comeback would have ever been mounted.

Rodgers could have ended the game on the first play of OT but missed a wide open Jennings so the Packers had their chances even after the botched FG that should have won it for the Cardinals at the end of regulation.

If there's an incorrect ruling or something to that effect, I can understand someone bitching.

But pissing and moaning over a missed penalty is lame as fuck. I'm sure if you reviewed the entire game tape you could find plenty of missed calls that would have altered the game in all sorts of fucked up ways.

Penalties are called and missed.....and that's part of the game.

While I agree wholeheartedly with your post, when it is the last play of the game and decides who moves on in the playoffs, you HAVE to get that call right. Especially when it's as obvious as a facemask.

If they were really getting "JOBBED", Arizona would have taken the toss...One play isn't the game...ever...There were many plays that got the game to the point that it was...

Here are two key plays that I was pissed at.

Here is the 2nd touchdown by Fitz when he ran right over Woodson.

Please tell me how you cannot call that a flag? He ran straight over Woodson, and then turned to the outside for the ball. He extends his arms and pushes Woodson over. Same play that Jenkins got called for a TERRIBLE roughing the passer call.

Then you have the helmet to helmet hit, here is the play before the game winning touchdown.

Ref isn't even looking at that play.


The refs missed at least 4-5 key plays for the Packers. I'm not gonna even get into the facemask play, but I do agree it was a judgement call.

Overall it was a GREAT game, but it's sad to see such poor officals in the NFL. BAL/NE refs were pretty bad as well.

I can't remember which game it was this weekend (maybe NE/BAL?) but I remember a WR getting called for offensive PI for running over a DB then it was weird when later on the no call happened in the GB/Zona game. The worst thing about the refs is the lack of consistency.

my unbias opinion....green bay didn't get robbed they just got the short end of the straw.


fitz knock over woodson twice....blatant calls like that shouldn't be missed...and the qb roughness calls are ridiculous no matter who's under center.Arz had some calls go against them too though just not as bad ones.
