and don't play that card about manning, every time this team loses meaningful games Manning is crucified, the myth that he chokes in the playoffs is proof of it.

Again, since when were QB's legacy based on how well they perform in the regular season as opposed to the playoffs? He can win an MVP, but I'd be very surprised to see him in the Super Bowl this year.

The Colts D had held the Jets O to 3 points. Manning and the offense scored on half their possesions. Everything went to shit when the backups came in.

14/21 for 192 yards with no picks is not pedestrian - especially when it's only done in one half.

Manning was pulled with 5:36 left in the 3rd quarter so he pretty much played 75% of the game (Jets got the ball after the Colts scored so Manning would not have had more than a few snaps in the 3rd if he had came back in). During that time he threw for 0 TD's and was barely beating a .500 team at home. That might not be pedestrian for Trent Dilfer but it is for Peyton Manning.

I watched a lot of the game flipping back and forth between the local feed and the RedZone channel and it looked to me like the Colts were missing out on lots of scoring opportunities and were up by the whopping score of 9-3 after having an XP blocked. The Jets came out and opened up the 2nd half with a 105 yard return for a TD and a 10-9 lead. That's really in control...lol

Not sure if your memory is failing or not, the score when he was pulled that I had came from the USA Today recap.

Manning quickly put the Colts back on top 18-15 by leading an 81-yard touchdown drive. But he played no more despite the boos and a few chants of "We want Peyton" from the stands. Wide receiver Reggie Wayne and tight end Dallas Clark joined Manning on the sideline.

MVP discussion isn't re-opened. Trust me, if Peyton played out, they would have won. Wayne was shitting on Revis. Manning missed him a few times, but when they needed Manning to drive down the field he did. Brad Smith returns a kickoff to start the second half and Manning comes right on the field and kills their momentum with a TD drive. 15-10. Jets weren't doing shit outside of that special teams play. They pull Manning out of the game and then it goes to shit.

Peyton only played 60% of the game, not 75%. He wasn't pulled in the fourth, he was pulled in the middle of the third. That offense was as flat as Miranda Cosgrove when Painter came in the game. Painter lost the Colts that game.

100% sure you didn't watch this game. How the fuck could the Colts go from down 9-10 to up 18-15 all in half of the third quarter? This would mean that the Colts would have had to of scored on two possessions (nine points) and the Jets got a field goal and safety.

This also defies another logical thing... something called THE FINAL SCORE. How could the Colts be up 18-15 when they only scored 15 points?

Did Manning miss a few passes to open wideouts? Yes. But he's been doing that the entire season. If that's enough to reopen the MVP race, then the race hasn't been shut the entire year. He didn't play a full game and still put up 192 yards on a team that on average only gives up 166 a game. He didn't throw any TDs, but was solid in every other category.

We can sit here and say things like:

but it's pure fantasy, and didn't actually happen. The game was never really in the JETS' favor until Painter came in and immediately gave up a TD.

As for is the MVP race still open yes it is. Favre still could win it, but it'll only happen if he stops his December fade and he might need to get the #1 NFC seed too.

I told you that I watched the game back and forth between local feed and the RedZone channel and posted the link that showed what appears to be the incorrect score when Manning left the game. What I did see when I was watching the game was Manning missing wide open receivers and having 0 TD passes against a .500 team while trailing in the 3rd quarter until he put them up briefly before leaving the game. Did I miss anything else?

Again, there has been no mention of Favre being back in the race by me in this thread. He would have to have a monster game against the Bears tomorrow night to even think about being back in the race. I guarantee you though that if Brees had came out today and tossed 3 TD's or more in a winning effort, he would be the front runner over Manning.
