This is simply a poorly disguised Favre love thread. IMO, Favre has pretty much played himself out of any real shot at the MVP over the past month. Not a great month statistically for him and his team is in a downward spiral.

The Vikings have proven without Favre they are still a playoff team last year. He's got one of the best RBs in the league helping him out. Without Rodgers, the Packers are fucked. Yet Rodgers is never mentioned. Obviously I am biased but I find Rodgers more deserving at this point.

Again, very comparable numbers. Rivers is leading the team with the longest winning streak in the NFL at the moment. He's got talent around him but if he went down the Chargers would be screwed. LDT can no longer carry that team.


I don't want to discredit Favre here at all. The guy is amazing and has had a phenomenal year. Crazy how good he still is at his age. Until about a month ago, I thought he was definitely one of the leaders for MVP. But now, IMO, its really hard to even put him in the conversation.

This is all a moot point. Manning has and deserves to have this award locked up. And if he doesn't, the only other realistic candidates are CJ and Brees.

I would disagree 1000%.

Aaron was a Favre fan no doubt. But a lot of the time he was reasonably sensible about it. It never seemed to me like 100% completely blind man love for Aaron. Just man love. Sure he had his moments of MrBill like behavior but its really not even close. Bill is on a level all his own. I havent even met one as bad as him in my time in GB. It wasn't a Favre love thread. It was an "is the window still open for MVP" thread since Manning had a pedestrian performance on Sunday before the starters were pulled against the Jets, which was a legitimate question.

All of the Colts fans then used it as a lightning rod for their anger because they are so bent out of shape that their teams coach tossed a perfect season out the window and started ripping on Favre to try and feel better about the Colts loss. It went downhill from there...lol

This thread is hilarious. But to sum up the MVP discussion, if you look at the surrounding talent, there should be no question who is the Most Valuable Player.

Peyton Manning is getting by with Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark and table scraps. He's easily the best QB in the league, and he's on the best team record-wise in the NFL, which is no small feat considering this might be the worst supporting cast he's played with since his rookie year.

I can't believe this is actually a debate and someone is willing to fight for Favre over Manning.

The Colts are 14-1 to the Vikings 11-4 and have HFA locked up
The Colts have the worst rushing offense in the league, whilst the Vikings are 14th
The Colts D is ranked 7 places below the Vikings D
Manning has a better completion percentage, more yards, a better yards per attempt average, more TDs and has taken 24 less sacks

And the kicker? Last year the Vikings went 10-6 with Tavaris Jackson and some other garbage at QB. So far Brett Favre has improved them by one whole win.
