Still early game, so Varric, Solas and Cassandra w/ my Rogue Archer.

Nothing but tales about how nobody can believe Solas lasted this long just putzing around in the Fade w/o being possessed or dying...

That and how Varric's career as an author is going.

...oddly enough, Cassandra's just there to whomp ass and I'm all for it.

Forgot that after an initial convo w/ your new buds, you can go back and talk to them again.

It was interesting to hear what "The Seekers" were from the source, AKA Cassandra.

Pretty rad stuff considering...

 

If a Seeker showed up at a Mage Circle, the local Templars KNEW shit was about to go down.

Yeah, keep talking to your team as you go they always have something to say. Sera is easily my favorite at this point. She's so kickass I wish she wasnt a lesbian

I also really like Iron Bull and I think Freddie did a great job with voicing the character. :dunno:

I'm afraid of ruining the group dynamic w/ my Archer as support.

My secondary 2H-Warrior could fill that roll though so Sera might hop aboard the team later when I find her.

As for the Prinze Jr.? He did good in ME3 and I like him as an actor (Scooby Doo is dumb fun) so I wasn't scared off from him being in this.

phenominal game. I am playing as a mage usual. About 20 hours played now. the different areas look so good.

The size and scope of the game is amazing. Every area I been to has been huge for the most part. The story is awesome and companion stories are great too.

A lot of these little fetch quests early on give you a false sense of pointlessness for doing them. Most I completed as like a tutorial.....then i went to Oasis last night. If you have not been here then dont read on....i will only say that this area might be the most cleverly disguised/pain in the ass location ever created i gaming.

 

I unlocked Oasis because been collecting shards on all the maps i visited. The war room opened up the option to goto oasis. I decided to go there thinking it was another Val Rois (sp) sized map. This fucking thing was like a giant maze with levels. I was so frustrated trying to get up to 2nd and 3rd levels. You walk all around these caverns and try to locate ladders or ways to get up to a higher elevation. OMG i was so annoyed. I was just collecting the 15 shards thinking there wasnt much more than that. I was on a mission to get them all because it was like solving a giant puzzle.
4 hours of real time passed and I finally got them all and did a few misc side quests along the way...closed rifts and what not

So then I notice up north this final quest...i forget what its called. But once i finally found the way into this place i found out what all that shard hunting was for. If you have been there then you already know that you open up doors in the tomb that allow you to gain buffs for fire, ice and electricity. The shards open the doors allowing you to go deeper and deeper. I only had enough shards to get through 4 doors in the Fire tomb.

the point to what i wrote in the spoiler is the complete and total aggravation of what is such a pain in the ass kind of area was completely turned to joy when i found out that i was totally tricked into thinking there was no point to the pointless fetch quests, and then totally rewarded for all the time and effort. The whole time i was thinking this is such a terrible design and there is no point. But the reality was the design was perfectly done to dupe players into thinking there was no point. But there is.

This game offers great value. Awesome graphics, smooth gameplay. Great story and dialog choices. great variety in landscapes. HUGE areas to explore and an incredible amount of things to do. Great action based combat that allows you to play as every class...it doesnt matter what class you choose because you can switch between all of your party members. you can buy unlimited respec amulets so you can respec any of your guys at any time.

I can easily see myself beyond 150 hours by the time this play though is done.

Finally got my class specialization last night. Went with the Knight Enchanter and respec'd all my points except 1 into it and holy shit.... I'm unstoppable now. Honestly it's overpowered and I wouldn't be surprised if they nerf it.

Can't put this game down! It has to be right up there with Skyrim in my opinion. One of the best games I have ever played.

after 40 hours i still feel like the game is overwhelming. I mean fuck, 40 hours.....i just opened class specialization missions. at 35 hours i got to skyhold. I am level 12.
there is just so much to do and so many people to talk to. And so many quests.

The main story is easy to follow because its simple. I read complaints about the main story wasnt really fleshed out...but imo thats a good thing since there are so many stories to follow that i wouldnt be able to remember the main story if it was complex. Its a good story and fairly basic. But told very well through fantastic voice acting and dialog choices.

I love that the dialog choices accurately rep the dialog that is spoken. Bioware has an annoying habit of giving you 3 choices and non of them accurately represent what your character says.

At 40 hours I am opening up so many new things in the game. i originally thought 200 hours but now feels more like 300 hours for 1 play through.

Just hit the 36 hour mark and am super bummed that I finished the 19 hour war table quest for the Hero of Ferelden to receive a message only for him to basically say he's too busy to show his face. THAT'S SOME BULLSHIT! I'm going to be genuinely disappointed if he doesn't show up at some point. I have not only his lover but his baby and baby-momma at Skyhold RIGHT NOW.

This reunion could be epic don't jip me on this Bioware. :gooby:

The multiplayer as they have constructed it wouldn't work for couch coop anyway, since most people don't play couch coop with 4 people and that multiplayer is hard enough to get through at times with 4, let alone 2.

Still, if you're buying it for the multiplayer you're doing it wrong anyway.

Wasn't trying to be a dick, just mean that the co-op is kind of like, a bad version of the ME3 co-op. ME3 was surprisingly good...this co-op feels the definition of pointless.

The level up aspect online is fun. So is unlocking more gear.

But it has no influence on the game world overall. At least with ME3 it influenced your overall story and potentially your ending. This is just a random side thing that is a distraction.

Yes I agree and pretty much bare bones... but I'm still having fun with it.
