of those i was an elf mage, with alistar, leliana and didnt kill wynne.
i didnt try to romance the elf. the teammate interaction wasnt as in depth as origins, but that didnt bother me. The stuff with all these origins cast members was pretty worthless and served no purpose. Except for Oghren who was in your party

I was referring more to the choices presented thru the story in awakening. It was a good story but pretty straight forward without u being any real influence on its outcome.

i did get myself to level 35 though.

Human Warrior....I am still in the beginning. I done everything in Lothering and left there. I am at camp....getting ready to do shit.

I have the big book I got very cheap....I will need to take a gander. I have a feeling I am missing alot of stuff. I have so much stuff in inventory (not weapons/armor) that I have no idea what it is used for.

i got the stone prisoner, which i thought was good. And soldiers peak which was also good. They also provide things for your main story game.

alot of stuff u will come to find is gonna be sold for coin. alot of it is for potions, traps, or health items. question is, what is what....there are certain gems you will want to hang on to for later.

Did you get the soldiers peak DLC? it includes a chest for storage....without it, you cant store anything. Also, make sure you snag backpacks whenever possible. prior to where you are u would have seen at least 4 backpacks to buy. they increase your inventory by 10 or 20...i cant remember but i think its 20

get your speech skill (only available to your guy) up to 4 right away. Get your rogues thief talent and lockpick up to 4 right away

im curious how you enjoy a warrior. i found that anything other than a mage was not as fun in regards to action.

I have them all. Stone Prisoner was good (and free for me) and Soldier's Peak was okay I thought (a bit short, but I liked it and particularly liked the option for a storage chest). The rest are pretty crappy/not worth the price at all. They either offer practically nothing (Return to Ostegar), or they are self-sustained tales that have no effect over the overall quest. Some (Golems of Ameggarakaka or however it's spelled) and Witch Hunt will at least allow you to import your character. Leliana's Song is just the story of what happened to her before she met you.

It's not that they're SO bad, but for their price and how short they, they are crappy. I was psyched for Witch Hunt because I was hoping for some info on Morrigan post main story, but so far it's been underwhelming.

Just FYI Maynard, JMS, anyone else interested...was fucking around on XBL just now (ice storms rule) and noticed that everything for DA is 50% off. Now, for about 3 bucks a pop or less (which I think is what they come out to) I'd say they would be worth it.

I'm STRONGLY considering buying Awakenings again (had the disc before) as it is half off. JMS, I would at least recommend you snatch up Awakenings now if you have a large enough hard drive. It's a very good expansion and TONS of playtime for just 1200 points at half off right now.

u cant go back if u left lothering. it ends up getting over run by darkspawn. Lilianna should become your new best friend cause she can pick all the locks. and can do pickpocketing if thats your thing. Pickpocketing is kind of cheap because there is no penalty for a failed pickpocket. Only rewards for being successful.

the speech thing is important for intimidating or persuading people. it can be very helpful with your companions to get them to be better friends with you...gift giving and talking to them will make them like you....which is important

nothing wrong with hack and slash. i know alot of people who played as those types of guys and loved the action. the problem i had with it is the powers didnt seem all that fun to use. the mage can hang back and unleash some serious whip ass

i can talk about this game all day but dont want to post any spoilers. so if you need to know something specific just ask....it can be very overwhelming early on

noce. i have the disc but would have bought the dlc for that price. the soldier peak DLC is a must simply for the storage and extra shops it provides

Im starting this today. I chose Elf Warrior. I can already tell this game is going to take me forever. I stop and read every single that pops up and the codex for everything. I've played for almost an hour and haven't even took 100 steps.

After you get through your Origin story (City Elf's better but the Dalish Elf ties into the "Witch Hunt" DLC if you pay attention), finish all the stuff for Lothering (including picking up Leliana and Sten).

After that, book it for Denerim early and head for the "Wonders of Thedas" store in the area.

Talk to the vendor inside (AVOID clicking on anything beforehand) and buy the "Archivist's Sash" and equip it.

Now you get 75 XP instead of the regular 50 from everything you click on; very handy for boosting levels early on without the aid of DLC.

Like you said, it would apply to anyone.

I'm assuming that this is Buzzman's first time playing this on the PS3 and/or playing it all together (w/o backtracking posts) and as such would think he might want the option of whether or not to find this information on his own.

So I am dying multiple times for the first time in this game. I am in the Castle at Redcliffe. These undead corpses are beating the snot out of me. How to I heal dying people in my party? I am doing something stupidly wrong but I am dying pretty fast after the 2nd wave of corpses.

So I am dying multiple times for the first time in this game. I am in the Castle at Redcliffe. These undead corpses are beating the snot out of me. How to I heal dying people in my party? I am doing something stupidly wrong but I am dying pretty fast after the 2nd wave of corpses.

health policte...many levels of ability and u will probably have "lesser" health poltices to start.

you really want to goto the the tactics screen. when you are looking at a members skill attributes select Y for tactics.

you can set your own custom or take one they have have preset and change one of the tactics to make the guy use a health poltice

change the option to Self.....Health <<<whatever # u like....use poltices

once u try and navigate away from the screen it will ask you to save as the custom tactics, choose yes and now the guy will use the health poltices when you told him too.

i strongly recommend learning how the tactics screen works. its pretty complex but another in depth feature of this game...plus it forces you to learn each class and all the powers.

All those Health Poultices you've found along the way are used to heal your party.

Bring up your utility wheel (if you're on console, if not, you can set the Poultices on your inventory bar for PC) and click the 'heart' icon.

Other than that, put points in your Herbalism Skill Tree so you can take the Elfroots you find along the way and combine them with Flasks you can buy to make your own Health Poultices (along with other ingredients later on as you progress to make better ones).

If you play as a Mage, you can take points in the Creation Spell Tree for the basic Heal spell and then Regeneration and/or Revive later on in the game.

And if all else fails, tell Morrigan to make Health Poultices or get Wynne from the Mage Tower (you'll have to complete the quest there to do it) and let her use her healing spells (Heal, Regeneration, Revive... if one or more of your party dies) to help you.
