Second Wave DLC releasing today that gives you options to make the game harder for the low price of free. It's included in the patch on PC (not sure how consoles are going to handle it).

Here's what you get:

• Damage Roulette: Weapons have a wider range of damage.
• New Economy: Randomized council member funding.
• Not Created Equally: Rookies will have random starting stats.
• Hidden Potential: As a soldier is promoted, stats increase randomly.
• Red Fog: Combat wounds will degrade the soldier's mission stats.
• Absolutely Critical: A flanking shot guarantees a critical hit.
• The Greater Good: Psionics can only be learned from interrogating a psionic alien.
• Marathon: The game takes considerably longer to complete.
• Results Driven: A country offers less funding as its panic level increases.
• High Stakes: Random rewards for stopping alien abductions.
• Diminishing Returns: Increased cost of satellite construction.
• More Than Human: The psionic gift is extremely rare.

Chris Kluwe is added as an unlockable hero on the PC version.

Have you ever even looked at the Games on Demand games? They are rarely discounted, and especially not this recently after release. Hell, Skyrim is still 59.99.

I skin through there alot hoping to see a game I want for 19.99....never happens. IMO they would sell alot more if the games were just around $10 cheaper. Sometimes I am bored and just want to try out a game. If gamer like Space Marine was $20 bucks I might just impulse buy it. Or Asuras Wrath was $20....buy it just to see what it is all about....but $40??? $40 to me is not a "fuck it" kind of purchase.

I got Kameo for like 2.50. That was the only digital game I ever bought sober. There are games here and there for 19.99, but definitely few and far between (and most of the time old as shit/I've already played or own them). Sometimes when they do $10 off deals I can talk myself into them out of laziness/impulse, as that's often about 10 bucks more than you could get for it in a store.

This game is awesome. I'm a few missions in. I've been lucky to not have anyone die yet, and I don't know how I'll feel when my first officer bites it.

I've had my eye on this game for a while and finally downloaded the demo on PS3. Loved it. I'll probably buy it at some point.

This is the first turn-based strategy game I've ever played, though, and I fear getting too overwhelmed once the missions really start to develop.

I think you can still DL it off of PS+ for free if you have a subscription.

Keep in mind that it needs 10+ gigs of Hard Drive space to run on the system though.

Dunno how cheap it is on Steam but you could probably run it on your laptop if the specs match up as well.

Downloaded it a while ago on PS3. Then got into MLB, then Madden again, then NCAA, then Saints Row, now inFamous.

Well, this sucks for PS3 and 360 owners regarding the Enemy Within expansion:

XCOM: Enemy Unknown's expansion, Enemy Within, will be issued as DLC on PC and Mac for $30, but the only way to get it on consoles is through a new Commander's Edition – a retail re-release that includes the XCOM: Enemy Unknown game, the Slingshot and Elite Soldier add-ons, plus the Enemy Within expansion.

The reason for issuing the Commander's Edition is because Enemy Within is simply too large a file to patch into the console game as DLC. "For the expansion on the PC, it was fairly straightforward," Garth DeAngelis, senior producer at Firaxis Games, said during a PAX Prime interview. "But when it came to the consoles, it was too big. If we wanted to deliver the same content to the console players, we had to do it this way as a standalone expansion on a disc. We couldn't simply just patch it in."

DeAngelis added that Enemy Within includes so many changes to the base XCOM: Enemy Unknown experience – new unit types, upgrades and even skill changes – it necessitated an entire re-issue of the game. "These things are tied deeply into Enemy Unknown so we wanted to release [the Commander's Edition] as sort of the ultimate edition, with all the previous DLC on this one disc. It was either deliver it this way or not deliver it at all."

XCOM: Enemy Within, announced at Gamescom nearly a week ago, launches on November 12.

I really wish they could find SOME way to bring this to consoles that doesn't feel so much like I'm being bent over. Even if you cut a disc like DA: Awakenings, or hell, make it downloadable but explain that you need the original to play. I don't buy this "We couldn't do it!" The precedent is there. I understand that you want to be able to include it all in the original game, but it still seems grimey.
